In this video we revisit old video where I show how to remove and install your air-filter on a Predator 9500w inverter generator from Harbor Freight and show a much more simplified way to service the air-filter.

I would recommend getting the filter out as you explained and simply getting a vacuum cleaner with a flat nozzle and sucking that area clean. That's a lot easier than taking the whole thing apart.

yep i also had to lift the motor to disengage the bottom clip on air filter box. after placing the nash fuel conversion kit to run natural gas i left the bottom clip off and used zip ties to secure the bottom of the air box. easy to cut them loose and install new ones for filter maintenance.

Just got my 9500 a few days ago, 4/10/23, almost a year after this video was made. Mine doesn’t have the resistor box in the way of air filter on right side like in this video. Almost 2” clearance on mine, maybe they changed it on newer models…

Have you tried cutting a access hole in the floor since its made of plastic?

Looking into replacing the whole air filter box with one that is used on go karts or motorcycles. I will be running the generator on NG so I don't think I need the recovery canister.

Really bad design... forcing a heavy haul, to an overpriced maintenance/repair shop for general maintenance. Clearly a stupid ignorant choice of engineering. 😢😢😢
