I must say this video literally saved my year 👍 I had the achilles tendinopathy and bursitis subachillae since several months. I did have to go on cricks for several weeks in Dec/Jan and the injury just wouldn't heal at all. All blood values normal and I'm generally healthy. Now within a week after quitting the nicotine gums, it has become much better. The injury is healing and since yesterday I am walking pain free first time in month !! Looks like the strong dose of nicotine before sleeping was blocking the healing process during the night. Again, Thank You very much! This is almost a miracle to me after struggling for so long 😇

I quit smoking 2 months ago, and had a chronic Achilles tendinitis for more than a year. The result is remarkable: I barely feel pain when walking. I expect a full recovery within a month or two. Just today I made the connection between smoking and my condition.

Hello Maryke; How about branching out your knowledge into jump rope injuries?.. So far, it seems running is your most common ground, where as jump rope, which has less loading on tendons, can be just as injury concern even though the weight distribution is less than running.

Consider producing an upload video for this area of activity...

Oh, Thank You ! This has really given me a hint. I am 40yo and suffering from Achilles Tendonitis. Despite having a good Physio it is just not healing. It's flaring again and again. Now the thing is that I stopped smoking long ago, but recently started to chew nicotine chewing gums to deal with the stress (Thanks Corona-Lockdown with small children :-p). And quite a lot of them and all in the evening. Now after seeing your video, this makes perfect sense to me. I will check what happens if I get rid of the nicotine. (will update here).

I’m so worried I quit smoking recently but I was smoking during injury of my ligament and I’m afraid it didn’t heal well .. it’s been two months and I still feel pain at times

I have a wedding coming up and the usual celebratory cigars will likely come out. I was wondering if an acute dose smoking one cigar ( no lung inhalation) will dramatically affect my chronic tendon pathology ( tendonosis) I do not smoke normally.
