Finally someone who understands fine hair. Everyone says don't blow-dry your hair. Unless I want to look dreadful there really is no other option for me. X

I will tell you a secret a high end hair stylist taught me on newbury street in Boston. When you got all the products in your hair to start blow drying, start on one side, put the hair up and blow dry section by section, but realize that warm air makes you being able to shape your hair, so if you want your hair to have volume, after blow drying with hot air upwards you need to follow with cold air, so that when you put the hair down again, it wont fall flat. I'm not sure if I explanied it good, english isn't my main language. You want to cool down the hair after the hot air in order for it to hold it's shape.

I just want to remind women that it is not a flaw to have fine hair. If fine hair is healthy it has actually the best silky quality out there. My hairstylist once told me that fine hair most of the times can handle more styling and even bleaching than thick or curly hair, because of its elasticity. If you struggle with hair loss it has nothing to do with your hair type. Embrace your beauty there is no disadvantage about fine hair.

I have thin fine hair and THANK YOU for addressing the challenges. Because of your tips I got my hair cut in a blunt bob. I love it. My hair looks fuller and healthier. Keep up the good work!

Thank you Gabi, I had brain surgery to remove my grade 3 brain tumor and my hair has grown back but very fine and thin. You can see bold patch. So I will be getting the silk cap for sure. Xxx

Set your hair when it's wet. Use a leave-in like Rusk Thicker. You can spend a few minutes with your blow dryer going around your head with the rollers still on. Take your hair out and style it, use a volumizing spray where you need it. Basically the roots and a little above your ear. Any place you need it. Lots of volume if you don't want to use the blow dryer.

I'm so glad I found you. I have fine hair and now it's thinning and I'm freaking out. Definitely getting a silk pillow case, volumizing products, and I'm going to take the plunge and cut my long hair. I've had shorter cuts a lot of times but it's hard to cut it after growing out. Thank you for these videos. You are so beautiful and make me feel like I can still be beautiful with a shorter cut. Also thank you for advocating for blow drying! I absolutely have to blow dry unless I want to look like a wet dog! 💕💕💕 Thank you!!!

Hi Gabi. I’m a licensed cosmetologist (over 10 years now) and I also have fine hair. I actually agree with you—blow drying is essential for achieving volume with fine hair. Using a heat protecting spray will help prevent damage (Redken has a great one). Also, I noticed in the video you went straight to round-brushing your wet hair but that isn’t the best way. You should not begin roundbrushing until it’s about 70% dry.
So after you do a basic towel dry so it’s not dripping, use a flat, vented brush…starting from the left side of the head and working around the back to the right, take vertical sections of hair and brush through them downward keeping your diffuser right on the brush bristles. Essentially you are using the air to chase the water down & off your hair.
Then when it’s almost dry, begin round-brushing it. Less damage, better results.

Gabi, I appreciate your channel. I had an FUT hair transplant three months ago. Your videos helped me make this difficult but successful decision. Thank you.

Silk pillowcases are amazing! Yes, I have to hand wash it, but it holds the hair so well. I had my hair start into male pattern baldness, due to hormone pellets and wrong dosage. I have corrected that, but it takes a long time to re-grow hair. I found Joan Rivers hair powder and it has been amazing. It doesn't budge and it doesn't transfer. Truly a game changer. Thanks for talking about this sensitive subject.

My personal experience has also been the same.. blow dry is essential.. not only for volumebut it also prevent friziness until next wash.. if i let them.naturally dry.. there is more loss everytime i brush it

Yaaas, silk pillow cases are a must. I have about 10 of them and will not travel without them either. Very fine and naturally wavy, frizzy hair here too.

Great tips! I can relate. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement using a silk pillowcase. ❤

One thing I'm surprised not mentioned by Gabi is the volume effects of dry shampoo! I'm always using it and it also hides the greasy look that's so easy to get with thin hair. Thanks so much Gabi I've been loving your videos!

I did not know I needed to use a volume shampo! Thank you! I sleep on a silk case, but allthough I love it, I dont feel it helps on my hair style in the morning. I will try the bonnet and I feel I dont have landed on a routine that works yet, so my hair is not in a healthy state. A video on how to save unhealthy fine hair would be much appreciated. When I bliw out my hair with a blowout brush, it gets firzzy before it gets dry. I am so glad I found your channel. Not pnly are you knowledgeable, but so sweet.

Hi Gabi, can you do a video for longer hair? I'm not suited for short hair and what I end up doing is a ponytail or bun everyday unless I have a special event, because it takes super long to style my hair.
