Slick Tape is pretty slick and makes the big heavy drawers a lot easier to slide open.
We put a link to this item in Ron’s Amazon Store.

I have drawers made very similar and use Johnson's wax to help them slide. They function almost as smooth as hardware. Also, just got a new trailer and am really glad I found your videos for ideas. You're set up is absolutely incredible. Very impressed!

Great Video - Freaking amazing that you can put all the weight of the Demo tools in that drawer - and it not pull apart - made out of 1/2" plywood.. WOW! That's some good construction.

I'm amazed at the critics! Thanks Ron for taking the time to film, edit, etc. these videos so we can enhance our own knowledge. I have really benefited from your videos. In fact, I'm in the process of using your plans, with some modifications for my needs, on my trailer. Appreciate you and all you've done and are doing. Keep up the great work. P.s. When/if you get a chance and have the time I would appreciate any tips you have on carpentry methods, techniques, etc. Thanks!

You can save a lot of tape/money by putting two little pieces of tape on the bottom of the cabinet at the front then one piece on the underside of the drawer at the back in the middle. No matter how far you pull the drawer out, there will always be 3 points of contact like a tripod. You can also put two pieces of tape in the back of the drawer, just inset them a little so it doesn't run into the tape attached to the cabinet when you remove the drawer.

I used the stuff from Woodcraft to rehab some old kitchen drawers at a church as a part of one of my Scouts Eagle Project. It worked great on old wooden drawer runners that tended to stick.

I have rebated the yellow tongue strip from sheet flooring into the bottom of the drawer and some graphite powder and it works great.

Drifta a company that does installs on work and recreational vans uses Teflon strips rebated and glues into the draws and cabinets. It has been using Teflon for years and say that the rebates keep it in place.

Hi Ron. I'm not sure how to add a link from twitter to here.... But Makita now have a small cordless router like the one you picked up a couple of weeks ago. Keep up the good work👍

Hi Ron, Where these UHMW materials really shine is when they slide on each other. This is what they were designed to do.

I stuck the slick tape to the bottoms of my long drawers and even wrapped it up the back an inch and stapled it.

I have found that furniture from the 60s has small white plastic "buttons" that lift the drawer up so that it rides only on that small surface. Seems to work pretty well although of course with time there is wear (inherent to a drawer of this style)

So I’m curious how did the tape work I have your 8’ drawers also and man do they need something to help slide

Are you going to be providing a set of plans for the smart woodshop

Hey ron, love your videos. Just wondering when we can expect to see plans for the smart woodshop. I have a trailer build coming up soonish and would love to use your ideas

Ron, looking forward to the build videos. Question: Do the plans include a copy of sketch up file? Thanks, WW

I will be interested to see how the tape holds up to repeated use. I think strips of HDPE would be less expensive and would wear better. However, due to the thickness of the material it would need to be incorporated i to the design before building the drawers.

It didn't look easier to pull out with the tape installed. How much less force did it take?

Just curious, why no dados on the drawer with the most weight?

Ron, what was the budget for the new trailer? Also when you sold previous trailers, were you able to recoup much cost for the built out trailer?
