1. At 10:56 login to the app, enter the source, destination and date - search trains.
2. Select quota as Tatkal.
3. Click on train name @10:59 select 3A and keep you mobile ready.
4. Exactly @11:00 click SL - click Go to passenger details button
5. In Add passengers: Click add existing - tick against passenger and Add passenger. ( note: page will be loading at every step, Have patience. tip: clear background running apps which uses data expect payment app .
6. Select payment as Wallets and review journey details. Carefully enter Captcha and proceed to pay
7. Select payment method as Wallets - mobikwick request OTP enter OTP PAY

Why don’t Indian railway split the Tatkal timings. Instead of putting the Tatkal time at 10:00 AM for the entire country, isn’t it better if they did something like Southern Railway 09:00 AM, Northern Railway 10:00 AM like that? This would prevent the overload on servers.

Worked for me and was able to book Chennai to Trivandrum mail during this peak time. (Christmas long vacation, New year and Sabarimala season). I however payed using paytm wallet as some comments hinted that OTP from IRCTC might get delayed.

ഞാൻ ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യം ആണ് Tatkal ബുക്കിങ് ചെയ്തത്.. SHORNUR to LUCKNOW by RAPTISAGAR..കോഴിക്കോട് സ്റ്റേഷൻ ഇൽ നിന്നും ആണ്, എനിക്കി കിട്ടിയത് വെയ്റ്റിംഗ് LIST 8 ആയിരുന്നു. BUT വൈകിട്ട് ആയപ്പോ CONFIRM ആയി.

PC/Laptop-ൽ IRCTC site വഴി ticket book ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് വളരെ useful ആയ ഒരു Chrome extention ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ഈയിടെ ഒരു video-യിൽ കണ്ടു.
IRCTC സൈറ്റിൽ fill ചെയ്യേണ്ട details ഒക്കെ ഈ extention-ഇൽ tatkal booking time-ന് മുമ്പ് fill ചെയ്ത് വെച്ചാൽ tatkal booking time open ആവുമ്പോൾ auto-filled ആവും എന്നാണ് കണ്ടത്.

Dont try for ewallet because i had faced issue in getting OTP more than 10 times. The server will be on hang on tatkal time so OTP was bo guarantee. But if it comes its very easy but dont go for the risk. Better to go for UPI
