Cook Steak In A Pan, Easy, Simple, Fast - Based on Jamie Oliver & Gordon Ramsay

Most how to cook steak videos show these nice thick steaks and have complicated recipes. This is simple weeknight cooking of a steak on the stove in few minutes. A few key things here, salt the meat, cool the meat, use a hot cast iron pan, and don't cook it too long. I like to cook steak medium or medium rare, and this method works well for that.

Most steaks you buy at the food store are not those super thick ones, I wanted to show people how to cook a steak that costs less than $10 with a simple pan sauce.

I recently started living alone for the first time and I noticed I’m not getting enough protein in my diet because I really do not know how to cook, and I’ve watched other cooking videos trying to figure it out but this one def helped me understand better about what I should do. So I will try this out on my next day off

My boyfriend and I tried this tonight, and it worked great! I don't have a range hood either, but we managed to keep the smoke alarm from going off by implementing our own version of the fan-in-the-window method. The steak was delicious -- best home-cooked steak we've had in years! Thank you!

I'm 64 and have been cooking since I was a kid in grade school. Used to cook steaks like this but over the years, I've forgotten how to cook a thin steak (like I used to) and this was a great reminder. All the other videos stress taking steaks out and letting them sit before cooking. They never seem to take into consideration that MOST people that are watching these videos are buying their steaks at the grocery store, and they aren't thick, especially if they are on sale. These days, my budget requires me to shop the sales!

I also, don't have a range hood (fan) in my current residence and I set the fire alarms off every time I sear meats. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the box fan idea! No other videos that I've watched even mentioned the fact that if you do this properly, you WILL set off the fire alarm unless you take steps to prevent it. Thanks again for all your tips and insight that us regular folks can use! You rock!!

I’m 14 and live to cook! I cooked my first steak using this video and it was very helpful! It came out a little bit on the dry side but over all it was great 👍🏾

I did this last night with venison steaks.  I did forget to salt it before cooking, but salted it when I ate it.  I put butter in the cast iron pan, cooked some garlic until it browned, and then removed the garlic to leave garlic-flavored butter behind.  Cooked the steaks in that; done to a perfect, juicy medium.  (Sometimes if we have vermouth on hand, I deglaze the pan with that.)  Boy, I've come a LONG way from the gamy, overcooked hockey puck steaks I used to make when we first started getting deer!  LOL

I’ve never made a steak via stove top before. I made 5 for the family tonight for my Mom’s birthday. This was my go to video. Thanks for making it. Everyone said it was very good. :)
