I am a visual learner. Even though my Patho class covered pretty much the same thing, I needed to see the drawings before tomorrow’s exam. Life saver! 😌

Outstanding explanation. Thank you so much. I had a Hartmanns procedure 10 months ago in the UK. Hoping for a reversal soon. I have adhesions and your explanation was so very helpful in visualising my issue and the likely outcome. My problems started with diverticulitis. I’d never even heard of it when I went to A&E. Next day they operated and removed part of my colon and left me with the stoma. I can’t stress enough how important it is to not ignore the symptoms and get it checked out. I would have died from the peritonitis if I’d left it any longer. I feel so lucky to be alive.

I have general surgery exam tomorrow (just 12 hours later) and I have been watching your videos about general surgery for 1.5 hours. This is not normal in my exam times in general.

However, your videos really make on my mind an overview like you say and I learn/remember the pathopysiology of diseases, this makes the informations be permanent.

Like you say on your website “We have two hands. One of our hands for ourselves, one of our hands for others”. Thank you for share one of your hand with us.

Loves and respects form Turkey. With best wishes :)

(Also, this is my first comment on YouTube-27.12.2020)

Trying to get a diagnosis is not easy. Especially in the ER. Great video! I wish there was more awareness of this.

Very nicely and clearly done. You let a few medical terms slip without definition, such as "necrosis" (which means death of a tissue, anyone who is confused), and "sepsis" which means infection of the bloodstream often caused by "peritonitis" which is infection of the "sac" surrounding the gut, but by and large QUITE understandable by anyone who makes an effort and some understanding of plumbing. Your explanatory and artistic skills are very impressive.

I have had Chronic Pseudo Obstruction Disease since 2004, when my entire large was removed. My surgeon did a straight pull-through procedure, so no bag. This is a rough disease. I've educated hospitals, as most hadn't even heard of it. Thank you so much for this video. It will help me explain it better. Just a note, specialists are surprised that I'm still alive.

Armando. Fantastic video. I’ve had a number of small bowel obstructions due to adhesions and the first time I went to A&E by myself in a taxi with a sick bowl convinced I had food poisoning! I was quickly diagnosed but the surgeons shield you from all of this. By the time of my 2nd 2 weeks later, I was a google expert and therefore terrified, lol. I also got MRSA and sepsis that time and was lucky to survive. Best video I’ve seen though with just facts and no scaremongering. Thanks.

Hi, many thanks. I am not a medic but I recently had a bowel obstruction following an emergency appendectomy. The hospital gave me little information about the obstruct so your video was very interesting. Mine was rectified by gastrografin enema. (for the non medics here, gastrografin is a liquid taken orally that effectively acts as an enema.)

You are a great teacher. I just came back from medical center and was told I have small mechanical bowel obstruction. I needed to understand what that really means and what could have caused it. You simplify the illness. Thank you.
