My parents had a 15 year age gap, so yes a working intimate relationship is possible for people with a large age gap. As long as both people are mature consenting adults, I see nothing wrong with the relationship presented in this anime. But the sad reality is all things must come to an end, so a large age gap usually means the older partner will go first, a lesson I learned from my parents.

I dont get why some people dislike this. If they want their generic teen romance, there's plenty out there. It's refreshin to see different premises adapted. It's not like this doesn't happen in real world. There's plenty of scenarios like this in real world. Also, it's the girl who's inlove with the old guy not vice versa. Seeing something like this every now and then is fine with me.

This is a very good story. So glad that this came out years before twitter had every audacity to argue everything.
I collected all volumes of it and so glad I read it. Romance is not the main take on this. This is just a story about a teen who fell in love with someone, and that love, though didn't bear fruit, did change both parties to be a better person.

People always say that this anime is creepy because girls wouldn't like an older guy like this. Which makes no sense to me because I can think of several women in my life who have a huge thing for older guys. Most are in their early twenties and are happily dating 32 years and older men. I myself as a male have a thing for older women, which is why my girlfriend is a tad older than I am, and I couldn't be happier.

I like and appreciate the art style a lot. It feels very genuine, like a real anime.
It's sort of been a pain seeing how all these modern anime series take on a more realism-inspired style instead of sticking to the good old original anime style with easy lines and wider eyes. It just makes it more comfortable to watch.
