Yeah, keep it on the road, it's beautiful. On camera it looks almost like new inside. But, it does sound like a bag of bolts. And, this IS the content we love.

Land Rover is the brand that has kept mechanics in a secure job for decades.

My dad had a Freelander 2 for years, so I've got a soft spot for them. I just wish the boot was a little bigger.

Also just to say.. I watch alot of automotive YouTubers and they all advertise car vertical. I think your integrations are the best in the game. It's become part of your format, checking the history of a cheap car you just bought.. so it doesn't feel like it's advertising. Very tidy and clever.

If it does not consume coolant, it can also be a badly clogged heater core. The lack of mayonnaise in the oil, normal coolant levels and normal engine power indicate that the engine could be fine.

Bought my FL2 after watching Matt's video about 4 or 5 years ago. Over 200k and it still runs like a dream. Really love it.

I bought a FL2 recently, partly because of your videos on this car, and I absolutely love it! Paid 4.2k for a 2010 model. First 4x4 I've had and certainly not the last.

I bought a 2010 salvage LR2 with a 3.2 litre V6. 209, 000 km. It was in beautiful shape and ran perfectly. I loved that car. Unfortunately, it got hit from behind on the highway and was written off although it was only slightly damaged.
I bought a 2015 LR4 which is an outstanding car with 66000 miles on it. Perfect so far.

best small SUV that LR has made. most LR are now over complex and expensive. I have a Series 3 LR and it is the exact opposite, simple and agricultural. the FL II was a happy medium and in HSE spec is very comfy for long trips.

I had a 2007 Freelander 2 HSE for 115k miles over 10 years. Never let me down and only repair cost was a clutch and a few door locks. We enjoyed lots of trips around Europe to visit the alps. Great car, the secret is to keep them regularly serviced. 36mpg and great on tyres and enjoyable to drive. Paint and interior was mint when I sold it after a hard life regularly moving PA and lighting gear - they clean up well.

Nicely parked up next to that “Car problems?” sign at the car wash.

No, if heater isnt warm that has nothing to do with head gasket, it's a flow issue if the system isn't pressurising you won't have power. Try some sealer. Could be a stuck thermostat or clogged radiator. It's probably not a head gasket, because you drove it haha. If it had a bad gasket it would have low compression and gutless

I work at a builders merchant acting as transport manager and we had a suspected head gasket failure (examined by an independent garage). We then took it to a main dealer which said the same and quoted around £13, 000 for an engine replacement. We sold the van for £2500 and later heard the issue was a heat pump. The vehicle was later sold again to someone else for £9000

Matt, I deliver RR's for JLR, and that beeping which will be driving you mad is that new EU thing that says every new car has to have that system installed, which tells you every time you enter a new speed limit, and beeps when you break it! Anyway, to turn it off, on the steering wheel, you'll find a symbol on the left hand side, looks like a white circle with a car inside it. Press that 3 times every time you start the vehicle (as it defaults when started to "high" level) and put it in "low". That should shut it up by 95%. It also turns off the lane assist which is also annoying. If you press that same button twice, it'll be in "Custom" and you can adjust the settings in the infotainment screen to suit. Hope that helps.

You should carry a white coat with you for vehicle inspections with "Dr Overspend" embroidered on it.
