English Heritage sticker also means that the nearest it's ever been to "off road" is the grass overspill car park at Chatsworth House.

It’s nice to see a car brand not yet featured on this channel 😂😂😂

My mum had a 'reliable' Nissan Qashqai which had endless faults and problems. She got rid of it and went for an 'unreliable' Discovery Sport - the facelift version though - everyone told her she'd have endless problems with it but it's been faultless for the past 3 years, despite the Ingenium engine.

It’s actually very strange seeing you in a nine year old car that looks brand new and only cost about 30 pence to fettle in relation to the sometimes hideous costs you incur with some of the piles of scrap you end up with…so in this respect a very satisfying and calming presentation to watch 😁

Small wheels and high profile tyres mean smoother ride and less prone to pothole damage. You’re right the Sport looks really good, the full size Disco looks a bit of a blob compared to it . Great video 😅

Thanks for the video - I’ve owned an Ingenium Disco Sport HSE from new for 7 years and it has been a real workhorse and totally reliable. The key is keeping it serviced regularly at 10k miles not the LR scheduled 20k. I’m planning on keeping it for a long time as it does everything I want it to do. The advantage of the 2lt over the 2.2lt is that it is Euro 6 compliant.

I remember the press really slating that 2.2 engine for being too agricultural and saying its out of date needs a more competitive one. That one was the ingenium engine which was mostly praised at the time. Oh the irony😂

Just bought a 2015 Discovery sport hse luxury. 41k miles 2.2 engine. Love it. We had the freelander 2 loved it. Had it 3 year. The most reliable landrover I have ever owned. 😊

I never thought twice about owning a Disco Sport, but watching this video you make it look really appealing. Great example too. 👌

Just sold my 2015 2.2 SD4 HSE Lux - apart from one door catch, courtesy of an impatient, heavy-handed customer, it didnt miss a beat in 2.5 yrs and 30k miles.

Drove well for an SUV, very comfortable on long run, and got just shy of 50mpg at motorway speed.

Even thought about calling Matt when I was gearing up to sell it! 😄

OMG. This channel just went full circle for me! I first found the channel when I was looking for a Disco Sport, about four years ago, and have been watching since.

I bought a 2.2 Disco Sport SE Tech SD4 manual in identical spec. Even has the same OEM towbar. Land Rover pre-registered a load of these in this spec as it was the launch colour and many of them were demonstrators. As it's half way to having a black pack with the mirrors, tailgate trim etc. I decided to complete the look with the additional black pack items and a set of black 20" OEM Aerovipers shod with a fresh set of Pirelli Scorpions. Basically looks like the HSE black pack spec. (the halogens are the only giveaway - and no, I haven't taken the SE SD4 badge off!)

I usually keep cars for three years, but I love this thing so much, I'm keeping it for the forseeable, it's been faultless.

...those headlight washers are blanks by the way :)

I have a 2016 sport hse auto, timing chain had been done when I purchased it which was a slight relief. Had it for just over 2 years and it’s never ever missed a beat, I’m scared to think how much money I’ve lost on it but it’s not going anywhere anytime soon, I love it. Hate seeing everyone slating the ingenium, look after it n it’ll look after you.

Literally just picked up my wife’s Evoque HSE Dynamic Lux today from the garage.
It’s a 2018 Diesel & it’s only done 40k & they’ve just replaced blown turbo, knackered timing chain, cracked thermostat housing & thermostat & had 4 goes at re-sealing the timing case due to leakage.
It’s got FSH & had interim oil changes.
Can’t even sell it as they’re worthless - cheers JLR 🙄

I’m into my sixth year of ownership of my Disco Sport with the Ingenium engine. It has performed flawlessly so far. I am aware of the fragility of this engine so make sure it serviced at shorter intervals than LR recommend. I had the LR2 before this which was also a great car but this one is far more refined.

I love your Land Rover content. You have so much trivia to add that I always learn something.

I have a 2017 2.0 D180 HSE Lux approaching 70k miles and apart from a minor DPF issue and a worn suspension linkage it’s been great. The robust interior does everything you want, the 7 seat configuration is perfect for shuttling kids around and yes I’ve been properly off road in it. Great car. Just avoid supermarket fuel and change the oil annually and it’ll keep going.
