Surface Pro 8 Keyboard Issues

Issue was the Surface Pro 8. I had tried 2 identical keyboard with the same issue, reinstalled Win11 twice and did 2 factory resets. Purchased a new Surface Pro 8 and it works flawlessly.

Microsoft seemed to have keyboard issues throughout all their surface devices. I have changed 3 keyboards for my Surface Pro X, now running out of warranty. Give Surface a miss, not reliable products.

Typing works perfectly in the raised keyboard position for me every time..

I'm just having the same issue. I tried it flat and nothing worked. I saw your video and made sure it was really flat and it actually worked, but any slight bend and nothing. I think it must be the wiring inside - probably cracked/stressed. I have a spare type cover that I bought because my original delivery was delayed.
I'm going to try it but I will be pissed it it also doesn't work normally -- I will flip a table!

I have this problem too. But I have this problem with Surface Pro X that use same type of keyboard. I think because keyboard is too weak at connection spot. Unlike Surface Pro 7 keyboard that have many connection point. I sure about this problem is from new Surface Pro 8 / X keyboard because I have 2 keyboard in different language and one have this problem when another is not. But finally those two have same issue.
I think MS should change keyboard connection spot like Surface Pro 7.

Seems like a defective keyboard, when you flip it up it might be straining the wires inside the the keyboard which leads to a disconnection, even if the keyboard icon shows up your type cover should still be able to type so it is probably a defective cover

flexible cable has been crashed, its seem to be is the critical bug of all key board pro 8

My keyboard stop working and stop charging the pen. I can return it until august, but I'm living in Brazil and I'll go to the US later this year, so.... I don't know what to do...

Wow，I had the same problem just like you. The keyboard is not working when I flip it up, and I returned it back. I am going to buy a new one.

My keyboard completely stopped working... I'm really disappointed, because the keyboard is integral for me.

I have the same issue on my surface pro7. in my case it happens in the flat position. I think it's a software error, because of keyboard inhibition in tablet mode

Do a reset and you should be good to go. Happened to me on my Pro 7 and a reset fixed it.
