i wish i had seen this video BEFORE i did a complete system reset after my keyboard stopped had picked up up a couple of used staples in the magnetic strip that keeps the keyboard attached to the tablet. it kept the contacts from working correctly.... thank you for the information!!!

Omg tysm! I didn't even know u can detach the keyboard, I used some hand sanitizer and clean it it worked!! Tysmm

In my case, this technique worked. The contacts were visually normal looking, but there was quite a bit of residue on the cloth I used after cleaning the contacts with alcohol. Always try the simple fix first. Thanks.

My surface pro x keyboard when connected continually types gjgjg, won't scroll up or down and I can't type though the mouse works ... any suggestions?
