When is the best time to go to Paramedic School? When is a student ready to attend Paramedic school? When should you go from an EMT job to Paramedic School?

The first step of EMS is becoming an EMT, then your first goal is to get EMS experience as a working EMT. The question then becomes on whether you go to advanced EMT school or Paramedic school next.

If you know that you want to be a Paramedic, I explain my thoughts on what to do next.

I also tell you my personal story of how I went from an inexperienced EMT to a national certified Paramedic in as little as two years, from age 19 to 21.

For all paramedic’s out there what questions did you ask yourself to know that this career is for you? My main concern is if I can handle the severity of the calls. Obviously paramedic school is a big investment and I understand that volunteering is critical. I’m from Canada so there is no EMT certification. I have worked for a non emergency service company and completed firefighting education but still not 100% sure. I have an ESFJ personality. I just applied to volunteer with St. John’s ambulance to get some hands on experience.

I’m 20 right now and I’ve been a emt in a very busy system for the last six months, everytime I’m on call I’m always trying to ask the medics what and why they’re doing things! This video is inspiring I’m getting ready for my medic interview right now.

I just recently got hired for my first EMT job, and I passed my NREMT exam this June.

I was a Paramedic in Florida ( Daytona Beach)
For 10 years, then I got some very strange symptoms, actually thought I might die, so My license expired.
I ended up getting better, but now I have to go all the way back to EMT school, so that I can go back to paramedic school.
This is going to suck. 😞
