I never understood why God favored Able's sacrifice more than Cain's... I always thought it was harder to grow crops than livestock (when in actuality, they are both strenuous labors) so I couldn't understand the shun. Or maybe that God just preferred the animal sacrifice!
I never understood that God knew the contempt, jealousy and bitterness in Cain's heart, so therefore his offering went unheeded.

Last night, I read about David and Bathsheba, and the sin that came from that. My thoughts were if I sin, am I repentant enough. Now even though I did not get to the part of Nathan the prophet, I know that David repented, but I don't remember how. Lessons to be learned.
