Really like your take on these figures. A lot of reviews are from the average toy collector or a fan, so it's very refreshing to hear from a actual artist and designer perspective.

As always, very hyped for video! I think that mattel should hire you. For real. It would be better for everyone.

16:10 A good example for charper teeth is actually the Transformers Studio Series Grimlock figure (the Age of Extinction one). His teeth are quite pointly but still rubbery, so they don't have a big issue with causing harm.

12:08 I think the stretches membrane is mostly on CGI version.
I remember the animatronic of JP or the scene where buck rex is roaring at sarah in trailers scene from TLW. Or even the scene when greenie rex dead and spino used his hand touched it in JP3.
The membrane of those animatronics is actually bends inside a little bit. But not as much as this HC figure. I understand what you want to point it out

Your mods really made a difference in this T-rex. I havent been able to aquire one just yet & with the QC issues im seeing atm, im no longer stressing over it. Maybe by the time Mattel releases the Green Male variant "fingers crossed", they will have ironed a few kinks out, then again, this IS Mattel we talkin about lol

If only you can be present at the Mattel Q&A happening at Sdcc, Flying to Cali does cost a fortune and on top of paying for comic con tickets. Would’ve been awesome to hear you speak out and tell Mattel about their issues and what needs to be fixed

(Edit: welp turns out Mattel didn’t have any Q&A like they promised while at sdcc, that’s Mattel for ya)

I mean fair points on the video, however, the membrane folding in on it self, is a trait of the Tyrannosaur, the bucks membrane in the lost world does the same thing so although it may be “unrealistic” it is accurate to the animatronics.

The front view of the HC Rex is actually based off of the CGI model, which isn't as wide and exaggerated as the animatronic

This was one of the most extensive and devastating reviews I have seen of a product. You absolutely ripped that thing apart in the most technical of ways.

Hey Marco Makes, I’m Joshua Bautista or Joshua Draws, I decided to make a new account. I also can’t wait for the premiere!

Really liked your indepth review of this dinosaur. I agree that the feet and thighs are a bit to big. The one problem i have come across with mine is the thighs don't move. Love the way your modifications look. Very nice job.

Great review as always! As much as I like the figure I’m a bit disappointed in the quality control, especially in regards to the paintwork. Mine has a big splash of dark wash on the left side of the torso (seems to be common across others too). I’ve considered taking some acetone to it but don’t want to risk damaging the plastic. But aside from that it’s really a great Rex!

Picked mine up today. Very happy with it. Only complaint was that one of my arms was locked at the shoulder and I had to screw around a bit to get it to actually articulate properly. Other than that it seems to be going smooth.

Looks great after the modifications. Definitely need to see a video on how you did these. And will wait to buy those rexy feet!

I like to think, in an alternate world, Kenner is still going with their figures.
I was never born in the 90s, I never got to grow up with the toys, though I do own five of their figures, but sometimes
I prefer if Kenner got the rights
Just think of what a Rubber Indominus or even a Rubber Giga could've been
Well at least we have you Marco, love the Rubbersaurs

I got mine last week when I was on vacation and I am proud of myself. I do have a list of other dinosaurs they should bring in: Carnotaurus, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus and Nasutoceratops.

I love super in depth videos like this! It was neat hearing your input as a sculptor. I will say, the reason the teeth are still not sharp is because, despite it being an adult collector item, safety regulations don’t really care. In order for a company to market something as a “toy” at retail, it must still fit the safety requirements of a toy made for 3+. If they wanted to avoid these regulations, they would have to mark it as “not a toy, 18+”. It’s a bummer, but that the legalality.
