There are a lot of people that like the Golf, they like the good interior quality, good space and the comfortable driving experience but there are more and more rivals
that can do this and even more than the Golf.
If you look at the Mazda 3, it even has a nicer interior than the Golf and it will be more reliable.
If you look at the Ford Focus, it sustains the comfortable driving experience of the golf but offers better handling.
The new Toyota Corolla has more cleaner and efficient engines. I have always thought a real negative about the Golf is the price and the amount
of standard equipment you get, when you compare it to car brands like Kia and Toyota, it makes VW look mean.

i don't think Audi sets the benchmark for interior quality anymore. Not that it ever did as beneath the surface there was a lot to fault with the squeaks and rattles.
