If Remarkable hired you as an in house consultant they would make a TRULY remarkable product that would sell like crazy! There needs to be a "My Deep Guide" certification on things. Thank you for all your work

This is THE best review of a product I have ever found, in magazines, web or Youtube - ever - during the last 50 years. Good scientific and pragmatic work. Hard work.

Sir, with due respect to you, I have never ever seen such a sharp and honest observer in my life. Your reviews are honest and straight. I salute your honesty.

I just bought one for notes. I bought it specifically for note taking and for its lack of distraction. I don't need bells and whistles, I just need to think and to quickly record those thoughts (and to evolve from the endless buying of paper and the mass destruction of trees). My first joy was to receive this device. My next joy was discovering this channel. Clear, informative and knowledgeable. Watching this video, I really feel as though I am having a coffee and listening to a friend. Great work.

This has to be one of the best product reviews on all of Youtube (and probably the Web as a whole).

This was a terrific review. I'd like to add - because I am sure so many people will watch this series - I've had my ReMarkable 2 for over a month now - limitations and all - and I have to say - it has become indispensable in my life now that I understand how to use it. I don't store PDF's on my device after I read them (I email myself the highlighted copy) and even for documents, if they get very large (e.g. taking notes on a music production course I am taking), I email them and then delete from my device. The "issues" that are raised in this series are valid BUT not at all consequential in my view. This device has eliminated paper from my life - is with me everywhere and I am, just a month into this, at a point where I can't live without it.

The Remarkable Team sent me to my mail reviews from "Mashable", "Tom's Guide", "Gizmodo" and bla bla bla ..., but they should send your review! This is the best review, and the best part: 27:23 haha

27:24 YOU RULE!!
As for the glitch, my hunch is that remarkable tries to load up the whole file to generate the snippets of pages, rather than accessing page by page as needed. Total crash means that issue was not under their rader and rM2 team should thank you for putting this over the surface!

I agree with many other commenters: This is by far the best review on an e-reader out there. It's obvious that you actually use the device yourself and know it thoroughly (which is not the case with other bigger channels).

Damn I was expecting a review not a scientific study on the thing. Thanks for making such a detailed review highlighting not just the improvements but also its design flaws.

Frankly I was enthusiastic when I ordered it in May, since I was batch 5 I was going to get it before school started. But when they announced the delay I was a disappointed and left me kind of skeptical about weather the device was being rushed or not, and honestly came to this review trying to find an excuse to refund it.

Although the storage and battery life when writing are lackluster, they're not deal breakers for me. I can say you restored my enthusiasm for this device. Can't wait for October now. Thanks for your hard work, you've fully earned this subscriber.

I ordered my remarkable 2 and I can't wait for it to come in. I loved your first video and now I'm watching the rest to really get to know my device before it gets here. Thank you for the absolute best tech review I have ever seen. I love how you are thorough but very relatable. You don't go over the top so the general public don't understand what you are commenting on. Now we wait for mine. Thank you again. All the best to you and yours! <3

Advertised 100, 000 pages of notes, yet only 7, 500 pages in ACTUAL USE! That's a remarkablely big, big BAD difference! Glad somebody was smart enough to catch that!

Best review of an product I've ever seen in my life. You are doing the same stuff in your test I do during my usage. All of my devices never worked as expected and showed always some crazy behaviour.

Thank you for all the effort and honesty. Watched all 5 parts of your rM2 reviews. I have also watched a lot of other reviews about remarkable 2, but yours is another level! Most important thing what is different - you tell us all, not hiding anything - bringing up also negative stuff. Almost all others will slipping fast forward about negative things and problems what rM2 has. Even not mentioning those. Thank you!

Thank you kindly for this in-depth honest review. I have a paper brain, which means I live off of sticky notes. With my job and lifestyle, I can't live without using my hand to draw and write out ideas for all my projects. Finally, something that fits who I am and what I do on a daily. My reMarkable2 arrives at my door tomorrow!!! My desk that is filled with color-coded sticky notes will no longer crowd my life any longer. I have been counting down the days and looking forward to finally having my own digital sticky notes that can be converted into documents and shared with colleagues and friends. reMarkable I am so in <3!

This review more than the company’s own marketing convinced me to order the device. Very through.

Your glitch reenactment had me literally just laughing. I’m so glad I found your channel and appreciate the info. Hope to have my Rm2 soon.

Okay, so I'm a dork... I actually took screenshots of Voja's timelapse 1-hour continuous writing and transcribed it... I hope I got it MOSTLY correct. Hard to read the handwriting in a few spots where his hand is in the way, but here it is in all its glory! Enjoy! LOL!

PAGE 1

Battery Test 1

The purpose of this notebook is to do a controlled battery test.
The test will consist of writing consistently for the duration of approximately 1 hour.
Starting battery level was at 23%. This is all being documented by the overhead camera what will provide the footage of the controlled test. This footage will then be sped up as a timelapse and incorporated in the final review.
Now that the test has started, my main problem will be to find something to write about that will provide a continuous flow of thought. It can't be anything creative as for creative writing I would probably have frequent pauses for thinking, erasing, going back and forth etc. So maybe what I am doing right now is good enough. Basically just writing down my thought process.
Music is of the wrong energy type and to change it... [can't see what you wrote]

PAGE 2
There. Music has been changed and I don't have that distraction anymore. Currently listening to the brilliant Icelandic artist called YAGYR. Album is called "Stormut", translates to "Storms". It's a completely random find (thank you Spotify!) and I just love it! Such a smooth and lovely flow, groove, and energy. Just flows and allows my thoughts and emotions to flow as well. I often wonder how this album was made, because it feels effortless, and after, when you get such an impression, it was anything but!
Anyway, going back to the writing test thing (YAY! I spelled "WRITING" correctly!!!) it's everything that I almost thought through properly. LOL. Testing methodology is definitely in place and saved but could have thought more about the format. Speaking of formats, I think I'll switch to 2 line formatting. ... [blurry at the bottom of the screen]

PAGE 3
All right! Now we're getting somewhere :) 15 minutes... Wait a minute. The new formatting rules. Does that mean that numbers will be in 1 or 2 lines?? Hmmm... Let's test, shall we? :)
1 sheep crossed the road to hell. 2 sheep followed 1 sheep. The man woke up, only to find that the clock was staring back at him. The man said "Hello". The clock said "4:16". 4:15 - The man thought. Again, too early. What is the point of getting an alarm clock if it will never have the chance to wake me up?
Whoa there! We've agreed to no creativity, right? Yes, yes I'm stopping right now. I just wanted to test the numbering format and what have you decided on? Small, or rather, 1-line height looks more "right" to me. When it's in 2-lines it seems like the numbers are cheating, or something, and that makes me feel anxious. That's not how you spell that one I know, and at the moment, I don't care :)

PAGE 4
The pen feels very authentic. I'm even pressing the pen too hard when writing, so the tips of my fingers are going numb.
Maybe this Test 1 is a good opportunity to try and break that habit, and start writing lighter and to hold the pen with less pressure, as it really doesn't require much pressure to be used and held in hand correctly and comfortably.
The flat end of the pen lies a bit better when it's on the thumb side. Let's flip over to the index finger and try that for a while.

PAGE 5
Umm. This feels weird. Almost as weird when writing with my left hand. Ok, definitely not for me. It's tying my brain into a pretzel. I had a friend who used to hold his pen like this. This was back in high-school and I remember, that his notes and pen holding always looked weird. I agree today as well, because this still looks weird and instantly makes my handwriting more weird-looking, and way less readable.
Ok. now for something else. No... Alright. Writing styles testing is done. I have exhausted this one as well.

PAGE 6
Yay! It looks like I might be able to pull this test off! We are past the halfway point now! My hand isn't tired and I find writing on the reMarkable 2 to be a continuously rewarding experience! If only it was a normal, usable reader too.
Well, that was weird. I just had a random restart, out of the blue? Almost no notes were lost, so that's good, and it's ok that the device restart cycle is super fast, but random restarts suck...

PAGE 7
And this was exactly while I was criticizing it's reader capabilities. Hmmm... Internal conspiracy INC! Joking aside, I hope that they will iron out these problems because it's quite an alarming thing to happen on such a classy and modern device.
I am looking forward to the second half of September. My semester lectures will be done by then, and next lectures will be at the end of November. beginning of December. So plenty of time to focus on development of my new game.

PAGE 8
I'm also going to try and fit in finalizing of my 2nd album as "Angry Dwarf" since it's so close to completion. Hopefully, the album will be picked up by "the dude" and that he'll like it enough to actually go for a physical release. I would love that!!! Maybe even a United Vinyl run, like 100 copies. That would be very sweet.
Ok. 18 minutes to go! This is going pretty quickly. I'm dying to see the statistics of the latest video and to see if I need to

PAGE 9
answer on some comments or not. This whole thing with reMarkable is a very exciting opportunity, and I'm aware of how much responsibility there is on my back. Do the product's justice, AND, give the users an objective, balanced review of the device. Don't think. Just do. When I trust myself and I do, a careful and thoughtful approach to things that carry a lot of weight, regardless of the result, I can always stand behind my word.

PAGE 10
I wish it had buttons. I miss buttons. But on the side! Gestures are ok, and palm rejection has so far been quite good. In 47 minutes of continuous writing, I have had only one unintentional page flip and a restart. I wonder if that restart had anything to do with a confused palm rejection. Who knows. Well, probably the internal log does.
Ok, 2 unintentional page turns. So not perfect, but certainly not a big problem. I think that this is within normal tolerance and expectations.

PAGE 11
10 minutes to go. Who would have thought that the time would pass by so effortlessly? That's the thing about this device. If you like writing, you're going to spend a lot of time with this device, because it's very inviting to just write on it and spend time with the device. It is truly a remarkable experience how fast the response time is. I just want to write, and write, and write. :) I guess that's the point of the device in the first place.

PAGE 12
I just wish that I could do the other things on it equally well, like
- Bookmarking pages and managing my bookmarks.
- And so much other stuff.
But, maybe? Maybe in time they will actually say: "Hey, you know what? Let's give our masterpiece of hardware design and engineering a software environment and functionality that is worthy of such a monumental achievement." Because, as far as writing goes, it's nothing short of a monumental achievement. It... [can't see bottom of page]

PAGE 13
2:47 seconds remaining in this Test 1. Thankfully, Test 2 is much easier! I just mark down the battery level and then put the device to sleep, for at least 12-13 hours. Then I wake it up and see what the battery level is at, and presto, Test is done! Yay, so, I feel that this was worth the effort because it will give a realistic understanding of what to expect. At the start level was 73%. Test is now done, and let's see. Power to 66% after 1 hour of continuous writing. That's 7% in 1 hour... we should get around 14 hours of continuous use. I must do the same test on rM1 and then compare.
