The big problem Sorrento has always had with increasing tourism is that it has no large beaches unlike the Amalfi Coast. That's why things are so much cheaper there. That said, I love the place and the location and hope to return soon.

We’re here right now. Weather is fine and we’re staying at the Plazzo Marziale just near a beautiful church. Today we explored Sorrento and tomorrow Pompeii and then Amalfi later. We’re not beach people so March has been a good time to come here.

Beautiful, been there twice and loved it but beware of 💩that comes from some illegal boat discharge into the sea. This can happen anywhere but it really was quite off putting.
