This show began as a meme and then progressively became a heartwarming show. You love to see it.

I just like how everything in this show is so exaggerated but relatable at the same time

My shortest way to describe this show is "If Death Note was a rom-com."
Not perfectly accurate, but it turns heads and perfectly defines the charm of the show's premise imo

That's why she appears as the Joker card in op1. She's always so unpredictable, meaning she can be the one that turns the game to your favour, or the one that will doom your strategy.

Of all people, I never would have expected Schafrillas to make a Kaguya-sama: Love is War video.

Fun fact! The guy who sang the first season OP came out of retirement to do the song! Not only that, he's SUPER famous. He's kind of like their Frank Sinatra of Japan.

I especially love the part where Chica teaches miyuki how to play volleyball. That part had my dying.

I love how when Kaguya is sick she casually mentions wanting fireworks and then in the season 1 finally we see how much seeing fireworks mean to her. It’s such a great little detail that I appreciate

Best part about the characters, Chika who is supposed to be the "3rd Wheel CHaracter" and she is shown to be dumb and airheaded, however in S1 she said to know (I think) 6ish languages, and also in one episode she is shown quite literally gaslight, and emotionally manipulate her friends Kaguya just to win a board game
She isn't dumb, she just doesn't understand what those two are doing because if she had to confess something she would say it out right
Which I think is very funny making her one of the smartest and chaotic

Also Best Boy Ishigami for life

I love how most rom-coms they don’t confess because they’re not sure whether the other person likes them and are afraid of rejection. Meanwhile! In Kayuga-Sama they don’t confess because they’re ABSOLUTELY Positive that the other person is deeply infatuated with them and is on the EDGE of confessing their feelings and out of pure pride refuse too be the one to do so!

ps Schaff If you liked this you should watch HoriMiya next. It’s much less comedic but has the same energy and is wholesome as heck!

As a manga reader who is completely caught up with the source material, I have to say it gets even better.

The A1 thing actually shows that the staff is more important than the studio. Some studios have cultivated in house directors and staff that are fantastic and are a big reason why those studios are so consistently high quality, and then you have A1 which varies wildly in quality depending on what staff they grabbed for a given show

Ian Sinclair is the voice actor for the Dub narrator and as a person who's been into anime for well over a decade I can assure you he's not just amazing in this, he's genuinely one of the best English VAs because he is always giving 110% in every role, he plays a character called Brook in the anime of One Piece and that character has such a vaste range of emotion and Ian captures it perfectly (also he's a really good singer)

And the best part is that the manga continues to get better and better. The current Arc is so intriguing and amazing, so if you can't wait for the next season I highly recommend reading the manga!!!!

if anyone thinks hayasaka doesn’t get as much development as chika, you should read the manga. she gets an incredible story arc

This show is just deathnote but a romcom
Deathnote is seriously just a guy writing names and talking to people while pretending he isn’t writing names. The potato chip scene fits in perfectly with this series and you can’t convince me otherwise.

You know it's good when Schafrillas talks about anime.

The studio is not really important, the staff is what really matters. In this case the director of Kaguya is Shinichi Omata, he is probably the best Anime director working today, he is the main reason why Kaguya-sama is so good, together with the original material and its creator obviously.

One of the great things about love is war is how romance is not all that matters. Even between the five different council members, each different possible pairings have a different dynamic between them.

And miyuki is the most goated romance protagonist i have ever seen. My guy climbed the social status in a school filled with elites and prodigies, and only in a year, hes not only an equal to his peers, he went beyond that and became their idol. Tamed down a girl born and raised to be a heartless capitalist overlord, won the reelection despite handicapping himself by helping his opponent on stage, pretty much saved ishigami's life, and so on and so forth in the manga spoiler territory. I didnt expect such depths on a character from a show with an entire segment about weiner jokes and underwear debate.

Oh God... Season 3 is so good. Probably the best yet. This show just keeps delivering.
