What rod do you use when fishing with a weight, can I just use my feeder rod?

I use inline and gripper weights specifically because I fish rivers and need to be able to cast short and medium distances

I dont carp fish but I occasionally feeder fish and in the right location it’s essentially a scaled down version except we don’t utilise enough of the carp Anglers gear like the pva bags when ledgering and the spiked weight for clearing the bottoms, alot of the rigs we use are different when they shouldn’t really be especially when using our icm ledgers, would love to try carp fishing in the right venue tho, somewhere secluded and old, an estate likely.

Am I missing something? What is the point of all this I caught 12 carp in 1 hour using corn and a normal 7 foot rod. What is the point of these long rods, fancy weights and baits. I'm always catching carp on corn or bread easily. But hey you do you...
