Watched so many of these and surprised to say each time the tips actually seemed like solid info that new or casual players wouldn’t know. Not just crazy gimmicks or super common knowledge. Hats off to you for this whole series.

Another tip: if you think you are not getting heals, ask yourself if ur actually making it possible for the healers to heal you without dropping focus from the rest of the team.

"If you're in a bad situation deflect first, not dash"

How are you fighting a Genji in the training grounds?

Also another tip, you can animation cancel with your secondary fire combined with any ability or your ult and get a free shot to maybe secure a kill for a quick dash reset or a kill while deflecting which against hero’s like soldier or Cree who rely on their explosives to kill you a lot can throw it back at them and the damage from your secondary with that damage should send them to spawn and get you a dash. Also you can cancel the sheathing of the blade by dashing or reflecting or climbing (may be wrong on the climb, haven’t played much genji recently cause tank is too fun atm)

Genji has two kinds of playstyles:
Frontline poke, and flanking strats

Frontline poke is more useful if the enemy has a lot of damage and sustain (like Zarya, moira and reaper, which are harder for genji to kill). Use primary fire and stay with your tanks. Once a enemy gets low, use your dash to confirm the kill, and go back to your team

If you're confident enough on your aim, and/or the enemy team can be easily dived on (like: ana, zen or bap), better to just flank. ignore the tank, and keep harassing the backline

new OW player
managed to figure all these out through trial and error
primary fire is more accurate but does shoot slower, i used to only secondary fire at point blank now its about 50/50

The first tip is useful... If you're able to keep them on line of sight, a Moira, Reaper or tracer could easily get out of the way, so you'd also need to pay attention to their movement as well as what characters they're playing as to see if you're able to pull the dash into fan and melee

The best short tips videos I’ve seen by far, I’ve been playing for 3.5 years and I’m learning new things

I know this isnt about hanzo, but i want to learn both of these characters and just left off his hanzo tips video, got solid 17 kills, the "Enemy crossing ur aim" tip is actually pretty common for me because i play tf2 and practice sniper, so im used to it.

This dude gives SOLID info. As solid as a ROCK.

Addition to the first tip: the basic dash+rightclick+melee is genjis "oneshot" combo practice it slowly by first figuring out your dash range then trying to aim for the head after the dash for the right click. If you land your dash and all three shuriken on the head and melee you can kill all squishys within a second. (the full oneshot combo is bit more advanced than the target audience but the earlierl you learn it the faster you can get more value)

Another good thing to learn is to
1- Make sure you're able to actually be healed while you're in comat (at least keeping LOS for some healers)
2- Learning some animation cancels. You can do his fan then immediately dash as you're going in for an enemy, then you can do the melee-fan combo. You'll still get some good damage off, even if you don't get in range for a melee-fan.

Another tip, don't just rush into the enemy team, your left click does almost 200 dmg at any range, don't need to be in close range 24/7

New to Genji here. I feel like this helped me quite a bit. Gave me some “Why didn’t I think of that?” Moments. Ty and subbed

These are all good tips, but the one thing I can see confusing people is the mention of using dash and deflect separately to either entry or exit. Using a deflect to deal damage and then dashing to reset and secure the elim is one of the most common and effective genji combos, the same with dash, fan buffering followed by a deflect, and if needed, cancel+fan.

You can also use the close range shot just before abilitys to get that small bit of extra damage, there's no downside if you get good at the timing and helps with bursting squishys
