I’m more surprised 7% were honest and said they didn’t know

I heard 60% of them tried to steal the coin.

everyone out here talking about the 50%
why aren't we mentioning whoever said 15 40 and 75%? 💀

I can at least appreciate those who honestly answered that they do not know, despite saying they were good with numbers.

This is not true. When a politician flips a coin, the probability of the desired outcome is always equal to 1.

Here in the US only 20% of our representatives and senators would have guessed it correctly.

0% I don't have that birth defect and spinning a coin won't change that.

And they all said we should tax that probability!!!

The politicians all knew the true answer. They wanted to know two things though:
"What did the opposition say?"
"If they make their answer higher, do they win?"
Don't mix maths with politics.
Lies, damn lies and statistics.

As a math tutor, I can say that sometimes when asked a question like this without much prep (even though it is something we should be able to answer without issue) we can be thrown off and feel a slight pressure of it being a "trick question", hence why I think the other majority chose 50%. Just a thought.

Well, I took TH and HT as the same and counted 1/3...

It's a chance of 25%, but as a politician, I can pull some wires in the right places to arrange it to be 60%.
Just for you...

I find it a little sad ngl that so many people say 50%. What logic are they using?

tannereustace

Maybe they were thinking "what is the probability of getting two of the same side?" Which is indeed 50% because it includes TT

This is the type of question that should be asked at debates so we can weed out incompetent leaders.

UK politicians : 40% Correct answer
INDIAN Politicians : we consider money as God so we don't flip a coin period.

Ah yes, let’s find a group of people who are incapable of solving super basic math problems and let them run a whole nations economy.

Yeah I knew exactly.

I estimated around 25% - 30%

I also thought the weight of the sides of the coin, although they are very very similar, one could cause it to flip over.

This is actually pretty cool.
