Math question that stumped most students.

Try to answer this. The order of operations is ambiguous.
This is an ambiguous question. It is answered differently in different countries. I or 64 can be argued as the right answer.

Dear Sami,
The order of BEDMAS is still the same in English or Arabic
The only difference in English you would see the 16 is divided by 2 (L to R) which is 8
But in Arabic you would see 2 divided by 16 (R to L) which is 1/8.so direction of how you read matters.
But if you interpret the question as is given in English into Arabic then in Arabic should be written as
(4+4)*2÷16
Just flip the exact sense of the equation side ways, the answer would be same.
When you say x - y in English does not mean it y - x in Arabic
When you flip it would be the same.
The confusion is caused by writing from lift to right or flipping from right to left.

I agree with MrHak interpret, it's the right way if you want to get the same answer, it's not about writing from L-R or R-L.
