Acclimating fish to a new home is important for both the health of the fish and aquarium. Take a look at how to complete this process with our helpful video!

Turning off the lights can help reduce stress in fish while they adjust to the temperature of the aquarium. Opening the bag and rolling the bag towards the outside creates a flotation ring that keeps the bag afloat during the acclimation process.

Scoop small amounts of water from the aquarium and add to the bag. This helps the fish in the bag adjust to the water chemistries of their new home.

After a few rounds of adding water, gently scoop the fish out of the bag with a net. Make sure not to add any water from the bag into the aquarium. Pour the water from the bag down the sink. If added to the aquarium, it could introduce foreign materials or pathogens.

Now you’re able to enjoy the new additions to your aquarium!
