How I Acclimate My New Fish in 45 Minutes

Normally I use the plop-and-drop method to add new fish to an aquarium, but since I ordered fish from a wholesaler for the first time, I decided to follow the company’s directions. Basically, the acclimation process helps the fish to get used to my tap water, which may be totally different from the bag water they were shipped in.

Clown Killifish are my favorites. Like little hidden gems, I'd say. They act sorta like little pike sometimes, it's really neat. Not to mention their striking patterns and brilliant blue eyes

Those are Baby Kilifish ! I used to breed Yellow ones😊. It’s awesome to see how they act like ambush predators just like a Northern Pike 😅.

I do this too. Because it takes some time to acclimate this way, I hang or float the container in the tank water. This keeps the temperature the same through the entire acclimation process.

That's exactly how I acclimate my new fish. I buy most of my fish online because I don't have a decent lfs near me. I don't quarantine because I only buy from dealers who medicate and quarantine the fish prior to shipping. I've just got zero room for even a small quarantine tank

where do you rehome a fish? i have this natural planted tank with white clouds and impulse bought this bright orange swordtail that just dosent fit the vibe of the tank

I have no idea what kind they are but i love watching her videos...ive gotten some really good advice from her vids being a beginner, and guess what? I have another question. My nitrites are a bit high. I have a 15g tank that had cycled and the pet store tested my water said its good to go..i bought 4 red eye tetras and a week later added 4 more, then added 4 panda corys after that...i have extra bio ceramic rings and do regular water changes. Ive added fritzyme 7 everytime i water chg. Ill have seachem prime coming tomorrow. My question is will my bio filter ever catch up with the nitrites to get down to zero? All the fish are 1 inch or smaller right now...ill have to remove some of the tetras when they get bigger b/c i didnt know how big theyll get. But again will the bio filter ever catch up? Its a fluval flex 15g and ive added more bio rings. The tank has been running for a little over a month
