"When the hungry lannisters and freys will look up at our walls we'll wave trouts at them" Just a normal day in bryndens life.

Out of all the deaths on GOT Brynden and Selmy's death annoyed me the most

One of the charms of GoT is the fact that the castles seem almost magical, has engineering brilliance behind every one of them and a logical explanation on why they are so important if they weren't just simply fortified homes. They act almost as the most important capitals of their region but what separates the great house castles from the other fortresses is because they both represent the region they rule and make the best use of their geography out of all the other houses. Winterfell was built on hotsprings which gives the Starks convenient heating, water supply and strong walls to protect against the Northern winters. The Casterlys made their castle on the biggest gold mine on top of a very large mountain out of the numerous gold mines and hills of the Westerlands. The Arynns of the Vale placed their seat of power on the most advantageous mountain range which made a already difficult to capture castle much more difficult thanks to it's high terrain.

Riverrun is special because as the Blackfish has put it, it has no geographical advantage and on contrary is highly disadvantageous to live on the middle child of Westeros which means there is a great need of a seat of power to concentrate your military might if you want to rule lands that has no natural defenses. So Axel Tully did the brilliant thing to make the rivers it's natural defense by making a castle right in the middle of one and turned one of their disadvantages into it's greatest asset. Unlike the North which made use of it's weather or the Arynn who made the most out of their terrain, the Tullys made with what should've been a troubled environment into something unique and prospered on it.

I really wished we could have gotten to see the Blackfish actually defending the castle from the Lannister soldiers, instead of lord Edmure just forcing him to yield the castle...

In the Netherlands we used to flood our lands as defensive method as well, I wonder if George R.R. Martin took inspiration from that. That would be sick

I just want to say the way they have this castle built is brilliant

I want to see so much more of the World of Ice and Fire, but we've only got six episodes left, And it's probably gonna focus on Jon & Daenerys and how they defeat the Night King.. I feel like the ending will be very rushed. Arya, Bran and Jaime all just started the third act of their story but we won't get a good conclusion for them either, probably.

They completely ruined blackfish’s character arc by having edmure surrender the castle. Edmure was ruined as well. There’s a good chance they could of held the siege off long enough for Jon and Sansa to come lift it.

"Even the damn Freys knew that much. Fat, drunk, toll collectors, living on a bridge instead of beneath it like the rest of their kind." Such a savage burn.

The Blackfish should have just slapped Edmure around the mouth. The men should not have surrendered the castle and followed him. Such a shame. Would have been an effective way to use time skips, just forward a couple of months at a time everytime we need an update of the seige of Riverrun. Could be this era's equivalent of when Stanis was holding Storms End during Roberts Rebellion.

Children of Tully role the Westeros and independent north, they are not Starks, they are Tullys and they grew to be rulers that they born in wars.

Riverrun is not as large as Winterfell nor as strong as Storm's End nor as impressive as Casterly Rock, but she's not a weak castle. Many times throughout her history has she been sieged and only a few times has she been made to surrender.

after watching this i'm gutted the Blackfish didn't shout "Flood the damn fools" and opened the floodgates when the Freys and Lannister's were right outside...😂
