I’m almost 70, and your custard rhubarb pie memory brought back a memory to me. My grandmother grew up in Sandy—TenEyck Road Is named for her family. She was an amazing cook, and when I asked her how to make her custard rhubarb pie, she had to tell me from memory so I could write it down. She lived near Estacada after she got married, and I grew up in Eastern Oregon, so going to see her was a huge thing! She always had snickerdoodle cookies for me. Love your time with your mom!
