It's great to see you guys do something new since the flashlight inserts. Hope to see a soft flame butane insert soon!

One thing i noticed that could be a real issue, is that i don't see any advice on bleeding in the instructional insert. If Zippo has invented a butane that doesn't have to be bled before filling or refilling, it will be a first! I had to bleed my brand new one right off the bat as it wasn't gonna take the full amount of fuel and sputtered a few times on lightup and then died after lighting two cigars. Once i bled it and refilled, it's been fine. New butane users might not have a clue about bleeding and send lots of Zippos back for repair or just chuck them!

Hi MT, at this time we do not have any information on a soft flame butane insert being available. We are always coming out with new items, so you may see them in the future.

It's a good insert. I have had my double torch for about a year now. I like that it's heavy. And it works without a fail on every click. You also don't have to fill it every week. It smells better than the regular zippos and you can use it sideways which is a huge plus if you're like me who uses it to light also things other than cigarettes, like the fireplace and candles and all that.

But there are few things I don't like or could be improved upon. The spring under the lid holder what ever you call that moving thing is actually rather stiff so it doesn't open all the way every time you open the lighter. Also the lower part of the insert isn't long enough or tapers too quickly after the zippo cover so when it closed the lid wiggles sideways which it doesn't do with regular inserts.

Yep, the release of these may turn a corner in the cigar lighter market. I see Cigar Prop on YouTube doing a vid today. Zippo NEEDS the cigar smoker market. In addition to the new butane inserts, a little secret is that the Slim Zippo is the greatest soft flame cigar lighter out there. With the wick trimmed even with the chimney, the flame size is perfect for toasting, lighting, and touchups on cigars. I use an original '58 14k Slim with the old Hollywood trick of placing a tiny piece of brass brazing rod below the flint in the flint tube to put a little extra pressure on the flint. I also, in addition to cleaning the wick and inside of chimney etc with a fluid soaked Q-tip once a month, burnish the outside of the chimney with a gun cleaning type bronze or brass toothbrush. Gives it a gorgeous antiqued look. Zippo should do the Venetian design on an ARMOR BRASS case with the word "cigar" inside the initial panel with room left for name engraving, and sell it standard with the new butane insert. This would be classic and would sell on multiple different levels---the cigar market, Venetian collector market, the armor collector market etc.

Works great. I wasn't sure how long to fill or how you can tell it's filled.

What's a good indicator when the chamber is full when refilling?

Mine just got delivered I can’t wait to get home from work

Why shouldn't you ignite outside of the lighter case?

what will happen if we don't use Zippo or Ronson fule?

You should make a soft flame version but instead of a button, a flint wheel would add the classic zippo look.

The only issue there might be with this is that in the current design the button is the mechanism that releases gas but if you put a wheel there would be no way to shut the butane valve when the cap is open but you aren't using it.

I have no idea what I'm talking about but if the perfect design suggested in this comment is possible, that would be wonderful.
It would look like a regular zippo insert but the fuel doesn't evaporate... Perfect.

I got double torch insert before two months from authorized dealer. It doesn't work after butane filling. After that I purge it one time and light fine. Try to purge it and/or push the electrode towards the case. Best butane insert I 've ever had.

Would love to see a sight glass for fill status!

This is pretty cool. I intend to buy the single torch insert for when I’m lighting fireworks

I was about to return my single torch model before I started tinkering with it. I think Zippo would get fewer RMAs if the QA at the manufacturing plant (China) was just a tad better. I know how to bleed and fill butane lighters, and I even used Zippo-branded butane. The issue, you may ask? The igniter electrode was bent almost all the way up, and it came out of the packaging this way. Bending the electrode down with my fingernail actually turned it into a functioning lighter. Now, instead of it lighting maybe 1 in 10 attempts, it lights 9 out of 10 times. Still love Zippo products! Maybe I just got one from a bad batch...

Just got mine...wont ignite from the Piezo igniter. It will if I press the button down and then use another lighter to ignite it. Quite disappointed.

Did I get the only double torch that doesn't work? It came in today and it won't light.
