I use a mixture of napalm and nitroglycerin for my lighter fluid, adds a nice taste to joints and cigars😋

Why not? I ran a car on Zippo fluid once. My pal parked on a very steep slope, when there was very littl gas in the tank. Traction was bad, and he burnt up the gas in the line, pump and bowel trying to get back up. Couldn't go down, it was a creek bank.
I got his can of zippo fluid, raised the hood, and took the top off the air cleaner. He got the car out while I squirted a steady flow of zippo down the carb.
The exhaust smelt great.

I used cologne once. It worked good but it still smells 10 years later.

I buy "CNF Lighter fluid" which works just as well as zippo fluid, comes in the same type of container, but at 1/3 the price

Just by a can of naphtha, it's not as cheap as gasoline but it's what zippos are designed to burn, in Canada it's like $15 a gallon, which lasts a very long time in a Zippo

Zippo fluid is only 4 dollars for a big bottle that will last a year

I use a solvent called Disan or Disol in my country. It was used with all wick lighters and doesn't smoke like petrol. It is also used to remove the paint on fingernails. Petrol is used in emergency situations.

I looked up the MSDS sheet for Zippo branded fluid. Naphtha 25 to 50% and unnamed petroleum distillates 50 to 100%. So evidently there is something other than naphtha, but they aren't saying.

White spirit works too but you have to flick the flint a couple times since its fumes don’t combust as easily

I once used all the gas in my mini bike without asking. When my dad told me to mow the lawn I panicked. I grabbed a giant bottle of Jean Nate perfume from my sister’s bathroom and filled up the mower. The mower ran like it was on NOS for about 5 minutes before seizing. There was no hiding the SMELL and I was busted. I did however learn how to rebuild small engines that summer. 🤣

If you mixed alcohol with gasoline it will work perfectly without black smoke

In my country Zippo sells their fluid for 4.5$ a piece, which is actually cheap for me, since I’m a smoker I use it a lot. But butane is still a bit cheaper I guess. A metal Clipper lighter with Clipper’s flints and butane seems like the most sensible lighter available today. They sell slim metal versions, and they’re just 10$. They sell their flint stones and butane for just about the same price with Zippo, but they’re extremely high quality just like Zippo. And they’re basically indestructible just like Zippos. All metal and sturdy. But still, a butane lighter starts to malfunction at certain temperatures and humidities. Also the wind is your enemy when you are using a butane lighter. Zippo is perfect for all conditions and for life. The only back-draw of a Zippo is the well known fluid vaporization. Which is the actual reason why you spend so much money on the fluid. The fluid itself is actually much more economical compared to the butane. But it vaporizes continuously during the day, and needs a refill every few days even if you don’t use it at all. But since I’m a smoker who also uses the lighter for outdoor stuff, Zippo is actually the only viable solution for me. Maybe apart from a butane torch.
