Before buying the caddy make sure you research your particular laptops method of drive removal. Not all laptops are as easy as a catch, or a single screw underneath the laptop. Some laptops require further disassembly so make sure it's within your skill range.

I got an old HP DV6580ee laptop. I replaced the DVD with as 12.7mm IDE to SATA caddy containing SSD . The DVD and caddy have the same size with the same IDE interface. The caddy is not detected. What to do now ?

I have a HP 15-f009wm laptop. It does not have the optical drive, but does have the plastic tray instead. How could I hook up a SSD card there, since it had no optical drive connector inside of the slot?

I have an external Samsung S2, 1 TB HDD which I never use because USB 2 speed is killing me. Do you know what's inside, i.e. can I get the drive out of the Samsung enclosure and put it in to a caddy?
