It depends what brand is the laptop from and what model it is, some have full back plates (like the one in the video) and some have mini plates
My old Asus laptop had a mini plate that when unscrewed allowed me to easily take out the HDD and RAM

I tried doing this with my iPad and got the backplate off but can't find anywhere to put the SSD. Any tips? Also, how do I put the backplate back on?

Edit: my mom found out I ripped the backplate off her iPad and now I'm not allowed to play Angry Birds anymore 😢

since the laptop already has ssd installed after putting in the hdd the laptop will automatically boot from the ssd right or you will have to install windows again
