In Japan, before adding the flavor packet (or, in this case, I guess, the Dan-O’s), they strain & rinse the noodles, then add fresh boiling water. Why? It removes all the preservatives.
BTW, Dan, I don’t want to see you get in trouble so I am obligated to let you know that breaking the noodles before boiling them is illegal in 17 states, and also a couple provinces in Canada; eating Ramen with a spoon is admissible only in preschool.

Better made into an spiced oil. Hot oil over top of the noodles and spices and mix that together
