The reason why I use the seasoning before adding the noodles is to season the water first. So that the noodles will absorb the flavourful water. They also use this method with pasta and chicken/beef/vegetable stock.

The noodles soak in the flavor better this way. If you add the flavor after the noodles are already cooked then the noodles just soak up plain water, and most of the flavor is just in the broth - not the noodles itself.

Also you have to take into consideration that grains soak liquids up easily. If you put the seasoning in first and let it mix into the water, the noodles will soak up a flavorful broth instead of just water. They will taste better.

Also, adding seasoning to cold water and then boiling really brings out the falvour of seasoning and the noodles get more time to sit in seasoned water making them more flavorful~!

I prefer to eat the noodles raw, drink a gallon of water, rub the spices on my skin and light myself in fire to cook it properly

I just eat the noodles raw and snort the seasoning. It's heaven✨

When you put the seasoning in first, the noodles can absorb some of the flavor, it's better that way.

I add it after and here's why:
I don't measure how much water I put in, and if I put too much I have to strain it. By adding the seasoning before cooking and then having to dump some of the water out, I'm wasting the good flavor _and_ it's more diluted, so I add it after when I have the perfect proportion of water:noodles.

So I actually did an experiment once regarding this:P and I determined that there is actually a deeper flavor in terms of the broth when you add the seasoning to the water before boiling. Idk if that’s science or what but I’ve added the seasoning before boiling ever since 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am Korean. Rather, in Korea, it is a unusual way to boil noodles first and then put seasoning packets. Most people put seasoning packets before the water boils. I was really surprised to see how Americans make their noodles.

Me: I just put the seasoning when it’s done cooking-

i put the seasoning in after ive cooked the noodles when theyre already done and about to be eaten, that gives it more flavour since it doesnt get mixed with anything.

This is the college equivalent of "Why I season my cutting board and not my steak"

In my opinion, this depends on if you eat Ramen noodles as a soup or a pasta. I eat Ramen as a pasta so- I drain basically all the water and put the seasonings directly on the noodles and mix it. I keep a bit of water in the bottom to keep them moist while I eat. People who eat this as a soup wouldn’t mind the flavoring being in the water because there are using the water as well.

There's actually a slight difference in the noodle texture when you put the package during or after boiling. The noodle is kind of springy if you put the package during the boiling while the noodle will be more softer in plain water boiling.

Personally, I get a pan, wait for bubbles, then add my noodles till there soft and stuff. Then I get 90% of water out and leave some in the bowl I put the ramen in. Then I put the seasoning, salt, pepper, soy sauce, and other random seasonings. :)

In my experience, adding the packet stuff before the noodles makes the noodles taste better than after the noodles

I'm not a big water guy in my noodles so I add the seasoning after the noodles and water have already cooked/boiled but I drain most of the water. I keep maybe a 4th of what I started out with, that way all the seasoning is on the noodles
