🔅If you have painted your countertops, how did you do it? Do you like it? How is is holding up?

🔅What do you think we should put in as a back splash? We are leaning heavily toward shiplap or galvanized metal so we do not need to worry about making the messy wall smooth. What do you think? Oh man I would LOVE to do a faux cement with rock .... how cool would that be?! 😃

What do you think we should put as our back splash? Something easy, it’s rough and want to easily cover it up, thinking galvanized metal or SHIPLAP.
Let me know 👇

As a professional decorator in London i can't recommend a product enough called ESP by Owatrol, no need to sand, its a liquid which can be wiped on pretty much any non porous surface including glass which enables any paint including waterbased paints to stick to any surfaces, we use it to paint old melamine, formica kitchen's and have nothing but brilliant results 😀

I did it years ago. It lasted about 15 years and is just now peeling around the sink a little. Worth it!!!

You're the one who made me do it. I saved so much money and can't thank you enough. I dont know if you had this problem, but if I got it on my hands, it took forever to get it off. Even if I barely got in on and went straight to washing it off. If anyone does this...wear gloves. Thanks again for giving me the confidence to dive in and just do it.

I just sanded and put a coat of this stuff over a previous attempt and dang, this stuff works wonders. Super tough, easy to apply and no hassle. Did the whole kitchen in 2 hours and 15$!

I’ think I’ve watched your video about 18 times. I got the wrong item after watching you over and over. Instead I got the tub and tile ended up using it for my bathroom sink bowls, and it’s incredibly beautiful no stains, and my teenage daughter love to do their makeup in the bathroom even though they have a vanity, anyway. It’s absolutely beautiful so I went and got the right one so I can do my countertops and ended up doing the bathroom floor, and wow just incredible and glossy I also did my kitchen cabinets and again wow I will do my kitchen cabinets soon hopefully. Thank you for this video I really think you should get a little shout out from rust because I’m pretty sure many have went by your video.

I watched your video and did my counters too! It has been over a year and a half and it is fantastic! You saved me a load of cash and tons of time! My bright yellow 70’s installed Formica top, looks brand new and a million times better in white! I also painted my yellow bathroom tile ! It is also amazing! Over a year as well. We have been really careful as some paint started to come up in the molded soap rests in the shower. I sanded and repainted. Left extra time for curing, kept fairly dry between showers and put a plastic soap holder in the molded painted holder so it doesn’t peel up again from being overly saturated. Works like a charm! I am going to paint the yellow floor tiles in guest bath. It will need extra cure time and a floor mat so it stays dry…since it is a floor. think it will be just fine! Best thing is…easy to paint over and super cheap if u have to touch up anything! Thank u soooo much!!!

I watch a lot of diy home improvement videos and I have to say this is one of the best one's I've ever watched! Your explanation of your process, the relaxation of your tone and presentation as if you were demonstrating to one of your good friend's, was a pleasure watching.
I am serious when I say you should take this to a network to pursue a weekly show.
You are as good at this as many I see on the home improvement shows and cooking shows on their respective cable television shows.
I have never commented anything like this before to anyone's video or channel, so please don't think I'm some creepster. Lol. I just got that vibe watching and listening to this video of yours. I was researching other's experience with updating older countertops and ran across this one. Well done and thank you for sharing, ma'am.

I've been slowly fixing up my kitchen for the past year, painting cabinets, trim, walls, floor registers, etc. I am nearing the end but realized my countertops look like crap lol. So I googled "paint for laminate countertops" and found your video. Girl!!!! Thank you so much for this tutorial! 💗 Your kitchen looks great btw!

EXTREMELY HELPFUL. You have given me the courage to redo my kitchen counter. Believe it or not it is the original pink... yes pink... Formica countertop that was installed in the house when my father had it built in 1958.

Thank you so much for this video.

I appreciate that you took the time to shoot this video. My countertops need some TLC too. I will definitely consider using this product now. I think your countertops turned out great! Keep up the good work.

FYI, for anyone else trying this you could unscrew the sink clips a little and wedge washers under it without messing with the plumbing get a much cleaner edge.

By far this is the best DIY video of this project, on the internet. I’m so happy to have found your channel. I just subscribed.

I did this too with this exact paint and so far going strong for three months now. I bought large drawer liners in white and put them on my counters for everyday use and remove them when I have company over. It will help prevent scratches. So far no stains and is holding up well.

Looks great!! I also sanded and stained my 40 y/o oak cabinets a gray/blue from Valspar at Lowe's, changed the dated hardware and feel like I have a new kitchen now. Thank you for sharing!

I did this for my mom’s kitchen countertops and she loves it! She had a 70’s orange countertop. I sanded it and decided to do a coat of primer due to the color and painted 2 coats of the white appliance apoxy. It looks great! The only area that didn’t come out smooth was around the kitchen sink. I would definitely remove the clip sinks and prop it up then recaulk if I do it again. Thanks for the video, looks awesome!
