This is an idea from about 20 years ago in the UK. Everyone was doing it. The thing is people were not coating their tops in a heat-resistant top coat, destroying their benches.

I wanted to refinish my black wooden furniture to a light blondish grey. In order to try it out, we purchased a look-alike occasional table to try the product and technique out. When I stripped down the paint, I discovered the little table was made with a particle board top! But I decided to go ahead and use the product anyway. It looks fabulous! And has given me the courage to go ahead with my bigger furniture!

I remember the wood grain tools from years ago. I’d forgotten all about them.

I love the results! I would paint the cabinets in a moss or sage green..we just painted my brothers cabinets that..and his wood counters look amazing with them!👍

I used Spread Stone on some countertops and it turned out great. This looks great as well.

This is so cool! Way better than contact paper, haha. And honestly your cabinets are fine the way they are unless you’re just tired of them.

Can't beat a real solid wood worktop!
Worth it the money for durability.

We use a few glass or wood cutting boards around the stone and other places to protect out counter tops, this is why we never have burns or cuts, I strongly suggest this with any treatment on your counter tops, as well as you can also apply a light wax once in a while, this will help objects slide easily and cut down on wear and tear !

I did a faux green granite surface from a Rustoleum kit. It looked great, but I did not know how important the multi-layers of top clear sealant were. I only did one 🥺🥴 I now have huge blothes where the original surface shows through. One blotch was from an onion that decomposed on the surface. Others were from hot pans and the edge in front of the sink got whittled away from the zipper on my pants brushing against it. So...do many layers of top clear sealant! 🤗👍🥳

I would like to see side by side before and after. I already forgot what the original was like. Besides before and after together is most effective.

I’d go w/white or pale dusky sage. The counter top looks fabulous. 😊

Amazing. I hate my kitchen counter tops but I’d like to know how this holds up to a hot plate it pot. I will definitely try this on my bedroom dresser top.

I did this on a beige bedskirt for my son's bed! It's been several years...so let's see if I remember how I did it. I layed out a heavy duty piece of aluminum foil and painted it brown ...musta been with a slow drying paint. Then came through it, with the wood grain tool. While it was wet I flipped it over onto the bedskirt and rubbed. It looks awesome!!

We have a 1910 farmhouse that we renovated. It still has a couple of original doors with this faux graining. The old "thing" is new again.
