Demon's Souls OST - Character Creation Theme (extended)

From the video game Demon's Souls (PS3 - 2009). This theme is played when you're in 'Character Creation' mode and when you're in the 'Load Game' menu.

This theme, entitled "Souls of Mist", wasn't released on the original Demon's Souls soundtrack.

This music was composed by Shunsuke Kida. I don't claim to own anything.

Something about Demon's Souls that the other games in the series just could not replicate and I miss it. Maybe I'm just nostalgic but I always remember a certain "atmosphere" Demon's Souls had that was full of intrigue. Felt like you were exploring the shadow of a broken world.

Just a correction: this piece is not by Shunsuke Kida, although it is obviously based on a theme -- that of the Nexus -- by Kida. It is in fact composed by Yuji Takenouchi, who also composed Dark Souls' menu music, and was both games' lead sound designer.

Being the character creation music, I imagine a baby in the womb.
Safe, not really alive but certainly not dead, and completely ignorant of the outside world, just peacefully floating around.
It's peaceful, yet you still have the urge to leave this peace.

I've listened to this well over 5, 000 times over the past three years. I can fall asleep to this, study to this, daydream to this, etc. This is a timeless piece of menu music, and I think it's a shame that Dark Souls 3 did away with the peaceful, otherworldly music at the title and character creation menus.

It’s 4.30 in the morning, I just got back from a party and I’m listening to this under the warm sheets of my bed, completely surrounded by the welcoming darkness of my bedroom and I’m having the time of my life. Forever grateful for this game and this soundtrack that will never grow old.

Overall a great song that draws the mind in and provokes thought while balancing low and high tones that have an almost horror effect

Literally a minute into the song, and I made my mind up to buy back my PS3 and replay this game. So many damn memories I want to relive just from hearing this tune.
