Which is your favourite camera from the G5 range?

Those sensors are incredibly small. Interesting choice. You can readily get 1/1.8 and even 1/1.2 sensors for half the price or less than these. That ecosystem price is pretty high.

Would love to see nightvision on the PTZ again but with color night vision off.

I don't understand, I've seen many people recommend unifi cameras for frigate NVR????

The Dome Ultra with its IR 'haze' is a problem cased by IR reflections off nearby objects. If you pop the dome off, the haze immediately vanishes. If you spend a load of time adjusting the angle of the camera, where the IR LEDs are / moving nearby objects etc you can reduce the haze.

I bought 3 of them and I can happily say, avoid like the plague. They have to be in a perfect spot else that dome ruins the IR at night and if it happens to get sunlight on the dome during the day, the same thing happens in sunlight as well, with lens flares/distortions that Michael Bay would be proud of. Managed to get one working well by angling the IR LEDs as far away from anything else at all as possible but the other two just have too much going on around them so are being replaced by Turret Ultras instead.

It is a beautifully small and well made little camera though. Just let down by the dome portion - is this a flaw common to dome style cameras in general? These are my first dome cameras so I have no reference if this is a poor quality dome cover or just to be expected from this style.

Also, random side note... Unifi, in their infinite wisdom, don't sell the black version of the Dome Ultra here in the UK, despite being in all the marketing material.

Dome Ultra seems to have reflections inside its plastic dome coming from its own IR LEDs having to shine through

You're wrong about the stand alone function. All Unifi cameras have a stand alone mode which can be activated if you type the cameras IP adress in your browser and use ubnt/ubnt as user and pw.

We had a big problem with unifi. Our dream router broke, still in warranty, however we had to send to in for returns to the Netherlands from the UK. It got hit with a £65 cistoms bill.
We have loads of unifi stuff in our network, I really hope we don’t have to send anything else back as it probably cheaper just to dump it is if breaks, even if it still has warranty. We don’t buy Unifi stuff anymore because of this’s. Customer service was garbage!
