Thanks for clarifying the differences. Good information.

You don’t need to run a separate cat6 for the unifi floodlight. I have several floodlights running off a Unifi Flex powered by POE++ with a G4 Pro, UAP-AC-M Pro, g5 flex camera and floodlight all off one cat 6.

Good comparison, couple of points came to mind from my own usage of both cameras.

AI Pro does have HDR. Its right there in the camera options to toggle off or back on, where you can also adjust brightness, contrast, etc. AI Pro has newer sensor, 2-way audio too that the G5 pro doesnt have. You can talk to people with the AI Pro just as if it would be G4 Instant. AI Pro is also only able to detect licence plates if you can see the plate on video. If you cannot see it, camera cannot detect that either. But the AI pro is also better than AI Bullet with detections, because the image is 4K vs 2K on the bullet version.

I think G5 pro camera image is smoother yes but AI Pro has more detail on it, like deeper on the cracks on the ground there at 3:56. There seems to be also bug with G5 pro audio, see for yourself. Go talk in front of the camera or clap your hands, do something that makes a sound. You'll see that the G5 pro has a ~1 second audio delay. this only occurs on G5 pro, all other cameras are fine and I have wide range of unifi cameras. Theres also others with the same delay so i suspect you will have it too.

does the AI pro have capabilities of perimeter sensing zones? for example the camera is facing a 6 foot fence and a burglar climbs up, can you set it to send notification? or enable an alarm of some sort?

Great video. Question: Is the AI software in the camera itself or does it get computed in the cloud? Do we need an Internet connection for AI to work?

I'm considering the AI Pro for my porch because it's the only Unifi bullet camera with 2-way audio. HOW IS THE 2-WAY AUDIO in terms of delay and compared to G5 Dome and wifi Doorbell Pro ?

Nice comparison. Protect is certainly stepping up! Got the AI bullet before the Pro was available and since paired it with the floodlight and G5 bullets. Think I will pick up one more floodlight too. AI Pro looking neat for sure but pls Ubiquity. G5 PTZ Ultra/Lite

Fantastic, Clay. Thanks! I am working on a system for church. We are looking at 25 G5 Domes inside, 2 AI Pros, and 6 G5 Pros outside. Do you think one UNVR-Pro would suffice and have enough horsepower or should I stack two UNVR-Pros? Thanks in advance!

do you recommend a separate network for cameras than the regular IT usage?

If you're having troubles with the AI hub and need to power cycle it, you could easily do it by power cycling the port on the switch that it's connected to (which can be done remotely with a UniFi switch). You could also label the cable or port at the POE switch that the hub is connected to and they can just unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in when troubles arise as well. Unless you're using a POE injector to power the hub, in which case, you could plug the injector in to a cheap TP-link smart plug that someone can power cycle using a simple app.

Thanks for the good review.

Hello, great Video. I need to detect the license plates of our trailers and their stock numbers; is that possible? We need the trailers' stock numbers to keep inventory. Also, the plates can sometimes change, but a trailer number will not.

Wow. The capabilities of the ai pro is on some real big brother vibe.

Hi – you mentioned UniFi becoming competitive with others brands with their latest improvements. What other brands are the premium cameras in the commercial security area? Thanks!

It would be good to see how Ubiquiti's high end cameras (these two models) compare to the Hikvision ColorVu range. I can't help thinking Unifi is much more expensive but lower sensor quality.

I have AI Pro as well. What do you recommend on the Recording Quality, Clearer Still Frames or Smoother Video. I tried both and doesn't seem to make and significant difference. I tried 1 fps then take a Snapshot and view the Still Frame and no difference than 30fps stills.

I ended up going with the AI Pros because of the color of the housing. It's nice to know that didn't make a huge difference. I just felt like big white cameras on the outside of a darker house was not very stealthy, and I wanted something that would blend in a bit better. Kinda wish they offered black or white on all of their cameras TBH

Do detections and license plates show up when viewing live on a screen via a viewport?
