Gmail, Yahoo and MS365 are all updating their email senders guides and requiring emails to have authentication in order not to be sent to spam. If you own your own domain this means you need to update your records, or your emails will not be delivered!

This video goes over SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records for email hosting as well as how to update them for yourself.

I get called to help out with e-mail delivery issues frequently, and nearly all turn out to be because SPF and DKIM were either not set up properly or not set up at all. Your explanation and demonstrations are so well done and easy to understand that I think all commercial e-mail hosts should require new customers to view this video before permitting them to set up their hosting. These records are that important, the video is that good and I bet that such a requirement would save them significant amounts of money in tech support.

Many Thanks! Your videos are very helpful and easy to follow. You've guided me with my Synology NAS and now helped to fix my email delivery problem.

Great video. I manage a few MS tenants and only noticed the warning message from Microsoft last week. All tenants are fully compliant now.

This is a great video, as a result I was finally able to get my SPF, DKIM, and DRAMC set up correctly. All green check marks! Thanks.

Good video. I've worked at companies where if spf is not setup right we just block the e-mails. This is new baseline importance education.

Thanks for the heads up, I had SPF set up on my main one but I made sure to go in and get my domains with netlify all done as well

Great video, been working on this with the company I work for as a new domain had SPF issues, but I've wanted to setup DKIM and DMARC for a while, but didn't know how.

Not related to this video: I'd love to see a comparison of CPU based encryption and HDD based one (via HDD bulti-in encryption "SED". Both in terms of HDD performance (incl. SMB throughput) and CPU utilization. Not sure if the expensive HDDs are worth it. As I am doing a lot of CPU stuff incl. transcoding it'd be really nice to see some actual numbers.

Not said here but your mta need to use TLS. You can not send email via smtp in the clear anymore

are these new requirements only for bulk senders? sender's sending more than 5, 000 messages a day? I have read that only SPF will be required when not bulk sending.

I understand you need to have a license for Office 365, in order to implement SPF, DKIM?

Thanks for your video. I have two email addresses to my business do you know if I should add both to my dmarc records? There seems to be conflicting ideas out there saying it is possible but, they can cause problems adding more than one email address ?

hey Will, I'm in the IT business. Curious how you pick up customers? or how are your customers finding you? I'm just getting started branching out on my own - I have day job and would like to, some day, do full time IT. I have two customers that, today, I do their company network (Windows servers) and I also handle their email. I built own email system using postfix on linux and such but would like to grow and find more customers. Any insights you might suggest here is welcome!!

It honestly makes no difference at all for any Microsoft email domains. I've had SFP, DKIM and Strict DMARC setup on our business emails for the past couple of years. Hotmail, Yahoo, Live, MSN still spam our emails. We're not on any blacklist and we don't send marketing or spam to our customers.

So if I have my own domain on Google Workspace do I have to do it?
