💲 NEED FINANCIAL ADVICE? 💲
1) Google "fee-only financial adviser" or visit www.NAPFA.org (largest association of fee-only financial advisers). NOT an affiliate link
2) The first question to ask any financial adviser is, "Are you a fiduciary to me 100% of the time". Get the answer in writing
3) Please note that some people call themselves "fee-based". This is NOT the same as fee-only. Fee-only advisers have committed to being fiduciary to you 100% of the time.
4) Personally, I would only hire an adviser who is a fiduciary to me 100% of the time. This is not a suggestion on what you should do. Just sharing my personal preference.

⚠️ Azul's "Scammer" Warning ➡ PLEASE READ! ⚠️
Be careful of scammers. In the comments section, I will NEVER ask you to contact me, offer any investment products, recommend a stock broker, or anything similar. Some scam bot commenters 'ask' for investment help, and later, other comment bots reply with "how great X idea/investment/person is" in the replies. These are scam threads. Do not fall for them.

🚨 Azul's VIDEOS ARE NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE (Disclaimer) 🚨

The decisions on how to invest, when to retire, and other financial planning topics are some of the most important financial decisions you will make in your life. I urge you to seek professional financial advice as you make this decision. Ideally, from a financial adviser, AND a CPA AND an attorney. Having the perspective of all three professions will help you make the right decision for you and your family.

This information is being presented without consideration of the investment objectives, risk tolerance, or financial circumstances of any specific investor and may NOT be suitable for all investors.

This information is NOT intended to, and should NOT, form a primary basis for any investment decision that you may make. Always consult your own legal, tax, and/or investment advisor before making any investment/tax/estate/financial planning considerations or decisions.

Spoiler Alert: There are no "get rich" programs. Rather, just basic blocking & tackling and putting in time and care. Do your homework, choose wisely and (IMHO) work with experienced professionals who are fiduciary to you 100% of the time.

I'm old and hate that so much is 'on-line'. Banks and other busineses get so frustrated with me when I say 'I don't do anything on-line other than watch YT. Yup. Tech paranoia.
I don't have much, but I'd like to keep what little I have left.

I've been in the cybersecurity business for 30 years - PLEASE do NOT use your phones for anything important. Use your computer for anything sensitive.

These companies that are supposed to be handling your security info should be the ones who have to reimburse you for screwing up. Especially if your paying for it and they fuck it up

The world has not gotten more secure with technology, it’s gotten more stupid and setup for a great fall, I’d say we were at max security around 1960s. Since then we’ve incrementally given up security for convience. We’ve now crossed the threshold of having neither security nor convience

It's getting so dangerous now. I've had my data leaked in a data breach. Lost my Facebook account last year, had someone place themselves on one of my credit cards and now Im constantly worried about my accounts being hacked.

Most phone companies now offer you a PIN feature that prevents SIM card swap or porting . Call your cell phone company and get this set up. The US government made companies offer this in 2024

Thank you for this information! I'm 65 and this is so overwhelming to me. I don't think like a thief either.

I work retail and it's amazing to me how many ppl so freely enter their phone number when the pin pad says enter your phone number. NO one has ever asked me why.

I'm not sure recommending a password manager is a good idea. Reusing the same password is clearly terrible, but a password manager can be hacked and then they have access to everything you use online. Using pass phrases you can easily remember is a better choice.

Dont give your phone number out to businesses anymore

We need legislation that requires phone companies to beef up their systems security. This is the TWENTY-FIRST Century! The phone companies can do way more than they are to stop hacking and hijacking phone numbers, etc.

5:43 you can have your carrier lock your account to prevent phone port over to a new service. I had mine done and the only way to unlock it is with a visit to the cell phone store and authenticate who I am.

I'm old fashioned. Paperwork bank statements and go to the bank for any transactions. I don't use a debit card, I have refused it from all my banks. I either use credit, checks, or sometimes cash. I have no reason to check my balance except once monthly on statements. I don't spend more than I make, so I don't live paycheck to paycheck that I require knowledge of my daily balance. One less stress to deal with. My cell phone has data turned off. It's only used for voice, simple texts (no links to click or send), and pictures.

It took exactly 2 minutes and 4 seconds to realize this was taking way too long to get to the point.

I didn't know about all those things they can do so easily now but I never allow websites to remember me and I always log off anything I use, definitely if it's from my phone, which I try not to do. I don't have the same password for anything and I don't want to use a password manager because if that gets hacked... 🤯
Thanks for the info, it was very useful.

I wish you had talked about the risk of contacting the "Financial Advisors" that are mentioned in the comments to your videos and most other financial YouTube videos.
