Im not any kind of doctor but what works for me for temporary pain relief from my aching tooth is to put lemon extract on my tooth and gum then hold it on my gum till it burns... the longer it burns the better it numbs my nerves.

Personally, I’ve found carbonated drinks relieve the pain ONLY while the liquid is in your mouth on the specific area that hurts. 🤷🏻‍♂️
