Drew Carey Discusses Pain Around Ex-Fiancée’s Murder

Drew Carey opens up about his late ex-fiancée Amie Harwick. Harwick, a well-known Hollywood sex therapist, was murdered two years after the couple had broken off their engagement. In February 2020, officers arrived on the scene to respond to a call of a woman screaming. Harwick’s roommate met them on the street, who told police that Harwick was being attacked by an ex-boyfriend. When police searched the residence, they found Harwick unresponsive, lying on the ground under a third-story balcony.

Daaamn, that's so heartbreaking. I had a long term boyfriend that died of an overdose...we had broken up a couple of weeks prior and were only just starting to talk to each other again. I realised how important he was to me, and wanted to reconcile. He never told his family that we were on a break, as his mom really liked me, and I loved her too. So at the funeral I felt like a right POS, crying and holding her hand, pretending that we had never fought... it took me a long time to get over the fact that it wasnt my fault. I thought he used because we broke up. It wasn't that we broke up, it was that he was broken... but that doesn't take away the fact that our last words to each other were probably not the most positive words. That is very hard for me to live with. If you're reading this and have had an argument with a loved one, please apologise and move forward 🙏 our time here is so fleeting, and you will probably forget the reason you even fought in the first place. Love on them and apologise, even if you were right. It doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter 💕

My heart breaks for Drew. I just lost my husband (1-8-22, although not to murder). Its just the worst pain imaginable, worse if your loved one has been murdered, I'm sure. 2 years in and he's still in pain. Im in for a long rough road. We were together over 26 years
