But I didn't hear the part where he said that a phone case should protect your phone.

My only issue with the Latercase is that because of how thin it is, it offers next to no protection from any drops or accidental falls that may happen. This is in a way just a Dbrand skin but in the form of a case. It will only help with minor scratches and scuffs but that is all.

What I hate most about cases is the damn dirt gets underneath and scratches it, let alone all the bacteria it collects.
