I missed the simplicity of life before. Basic phone, camera and photo albums. Less anxiety, no intruders to your social media. Life is very complicated now with this technology.

I was a kid in the 2000s. This was the last pre-smartphone era. When we were kids, we watched TV, played games, played with toys, played outside, etc.

These things have quite literally ruined childhood. I remember when phones were phones and not super computers.

the saddest thing is that when parents give the phones and ipads and others tech devices to their kids, they start to let the technology become their parents instead of them

I'm among those people out there who are really determined to overcome this addiction. Smart phone has a huge part on us, but it can ruin our life as well. Help me Lord to eliminate this bad habit!

The smart phone literally ruined my marriage. My spouse was always on 'them' 24/7. Now we are divorcing.

I was a child of the 80s so we didn't have this addiction (we had others just as bad) but we knew how to socialise and manners didn't suck as much as what I see now. Time and a place that phrase still matters.

I did an experiment where I used only a basic flip phone for 2 months and put my smartphone in a safe. My anxiety depression and every negative thought in my brain went away. I became the happy person that I was before smartphones came into my life .

My parents were not strict, and now that I'm 20 I felt desperate and destroyed my phone... I'm craving a change and I'm ready to stand up for my own life.

I tested positive for COVID-19 (again) 4 days ago. I typically don’t have issues with phone addiction. I don’t have your typical social media accounts. I have a job workplace account and a “fake” Facebook account, again, for work groups/purposes. I don’t know what it is, but having to quarantine, I’ve felt really compulsive during this time. I normally read a lot and I love to paint/color/draw. I’ve done none of these things the past few days and it’s upsetting! It’s caused me actual mental distress and I feel so different than I normally would. It’s like there’s this potential to just get in this cycle where you’re scrolling for no purpose at all, etc. Watching stupid mindless ads that don’t mean anything. I’m even 35, didn’t grow up with technology. These tendencies can creep up on anyone. I’ve known people in their 60s have worse phone addictions than teenagers. I checked my phone use for today and it was 10 HOURS. I can’t even fathom that. Granted I’ve been quarantining anyway but Jesus there’s so much to do even within my own house! Normally my phone history says an average of 2 hours so that’s an enormous difference.

I agree 100%! People these days are so addicted to their phones, even small children. It's so sad. I am working on using social media less and when I meet someone irl, I put my phone away.

It's disturbing how many videos on this subject are years old. It's as though we have just accepted this as the norm.

Excellent. It's time humanity wake up to this serious, already killing, modern folk disease. Look at the youth: like zombies in another world.
