Elliptical done with higher resistance and incline can be intense as you like . You will sweat and your heart rate will respond respectively.

IDK how people only have a 130 heartrate on there. Its not fun that way. My heartrate is always between 160-180 on an elliptical for 30 minutes. It's my favoriteeee

5 miles in 1 hour incline and resistance set at 50% or level 10 of 20 on both will result in approx 650 cal/hr. 60lbs down in 9 month's doing this 4 days a week while on dialysis 3 days a week. 140-160bpm.

I love my elliptical, especially during the winter. Many times I couldn't make it to the gym and I have weights also for weight training. But you can really increase your pulmonary strength with the elliptical. I agree it's a good full body workout. You just need to increase the resistance.. And that's great cause you can challenge yourself. At 130 beats, you only need to slowly cool down toward the end.

My heart rate will plateau at 100 bpm. But then again my resting heart rate is 60.

Heart rate is not a good way to measure work / effort.

And "220 minus your age" is a bullshit metric, too.

it’s so wack though. every time i see a reasonably big guy at the gym doing cardio, it’s always on an elliptical 😂 i’ve been an “athlete” my whole life so i can’t get myself to get on something that looks so corny/soft
