Edward Ed Witten on consciousness. I think consciousness will remain a mystery. Yes, that's what I tend to believe. I tend to think that the workings of the conscious brain will be elucidated to a large extent. Biologists and perhaps physicists will understand much better how the brain works. But why something that we call consciousness goes with those workings, I think that will remain mysterious. I have a much easier time imagining how we understand the Big Bang than I have imagining how we can understand consciousness... Ed Witten

I wonder if he would choose to embrace the opportunity of self-inquiry offered by Sri Ramana Maharshi, asking simply "Who am I?" until the questioner dissolves. He's correct that one cannot understand consciousness because the infinite cannot be contained by the finite. The universe is within us not the other way around. The mind is meant to be a servant and not a leader, we are consciousness itself, not some entity that perceives it.

I believe the big bang is my birth. its the birth of my universe(the beginning). everything evolved from nothing in to what it is today. i haven't been self aware until very recently and still have a long way to go. now I am aware I will continue to form my universe to what it needs to be until it becomes a good life thats present in my reality..

Consciousness i think would be the awareness brought about by the experiences we encounter throughout life from first learning about the 5 senses as we are borm to learning about how things work as well understandimg how evrerything around us can directly or indirectly affect us as well as corelate to us. Values also become a contributing factor to this as it affects how we prioritize tangeable and intangeable concepts. So consciousness basically is a collection of experience through our 5 senses and as well as an ability to make decisions based on them.

Its quite slimple once properly observed the directions to consciousness and the big bang are given from conversion of numerology to geometry it creates a algorithm if you all cant see that then we dont yet understand what a algorithm is then

Makes sense. The evolution of the universe is overwhelmingly deterministic. As long as we have the math to trace everything back (we do, I believe) then it's just a matter of "solving for X" so to speak. Consciousness is completely non deterministic however. We probably wont ever even be able to say when consciousness "began existing!"

I remember, therefore I was. Present, past.
My past has brought me to think and believe my presence and present.
And my my desire and choices, using my present and past will define my future that i have control over.
