I met Ed Witten in Phoenix Arizona at a physics conference. In just 15 minutes, Witten explained to me how I could save 15 percent or more on car insurance with GEICO. All around a great guy.

I recently interacted with Ed Witten regarding some calculation in heterotic/Type 2A duality. I would say he is probably the most humble physicist I have ever met. He also is a great expositor and took to great length to explain the details to me.

I went to high school with Ed Witten and used to help him with his homework. He was so grateful he wrote in my yearbook, “whatever I achieve in my life will be because of you”. Really good guy.

I am from Sweden an had the luck of running in to Ed at a time when I needed to upgrade my turbocharger to give my car more boost. He recomended that I used "the large hadron collider" as a turbo, he gave it to me, free of charge. all around a good dude

I have met Ed Witten at the Applied Math and Physics conference in San Antonio.
After his speech I asked him about how can he still come up with brand new ideas and theories. We ended up at a local bar talking about the importance of family, cars and the future of physics.

I was so star struck that when he told me he needed all my valuables to advance String Theory, I let him have them without hesitation. I just like the idea that I will be a tiny part in the completion of M Theory. Such An amazing person.

I was actually Ed’s first crush. To this day I remember the last thing he said just before he left for university at the age of 9, I asked if he loved me more than mathematics, to which he replied: I’m a nine and you’re the one I need

Just ran into Ed in the supermarket. The guy scanned all of his items first try without even looking, truly a generational talent.

I deployed to Afghanistan with Ed Witten in 2010. One day we were met with a hellish barrage of rockets, mortars, and grenades. One landed right next to us and without hesitation, I leapt on top of it, because I knew, after all of our deep intellectual conversations, that he was going to answer the mother of all questions. He still visits my headstone. Such a great guy.

Ed just came over to help me fix my toilet. He fixed it immediately using a quantum mechanical approach to the plunging process. Told me supersymmetry plunging dimensions will be the future. What a guy.

Yesterday I was digging in the field, Ed Witten was passing by and he insisted on helping me, he dug for 18 hours, didn't stop until job was finished, the man is tireless. We also had a great chat, amazing guy!

When Ed Witten speaks it is as though he has written everything down and he is just reading the manuscript. His thoughts just emanate so easily and perfectly and he always smiles as he speaks. By the way, Ed has some videos explaining the reason why he developed the M theory and why he thinks supersymmetry is the way to go.

I had a quick chat with Ed last week about an intermittent issue my car has developed.

He explained the occasional screeching sound when turning left (alleviated by turning right) is likely caused by a worn brake pad.

He's a good dude.

True story, I went to high school with Edward Witten. We used to call him "Eddy Whiz". Great guy and really down to earth.

just surfed and ran into him...He explained the physics and bathymetric variables of what we were doing better then even my friend who was on 5 hits LSD...Then he walked the nose and did a switch stance while inverted in the barrel! Amazing dude
