Call and ask for an itemized bill, go over it with a fine tooth comb as they say. We had to send our bill back twice with changes(many things we never used, drugs never took, etc). The third bill was right. This took 3 months to rectify.

I’m in Sweden, it cost me 25 $ for me to stay at the hospital for three days, deliver baby, medicine and food. My hubby paid 40 $ to stay with me and he got a bed, food etc.

Ask for an itemized bill! They are probably changing for things you didn't use. Always get an itemized bill because if you have to pay a percentage of the bill, you are being overcharged.

the fact that even with insurance and all you still have to pay 2000 dollars is insaaane

I'm surprised they didn't add the air that you were breathing in the room like... Oxygen $1000

Then people are puzzled on why nobody wants a kid 💀

Next time the older generation wants to judge me for not wanting to have kids I’m showing them this! Even with insurance you end up paying out of pocket! Insane!

Like they said in Matilda. “If we don’t pay it, what are they gonna do? Repossess the kid?

That’s the US for ya 😬 I can’t imagine how hard it would be on someone if they didn’t have insurance.

Crazy thing is that every American is born over $3, 000 in debt. Like who do we owe??? A newborn is already in debt. It’s crazy.

I paid 30$ in Sweden because I had to stay 3 days due to c-section (emergency), so 10$ a day for the room 😊

In Australia it’s free for everyone.
Basically all health care is!
When I had my children I had 4 days in hospital, and 3 home RN visits….
Plus they sent me home with a little framed picture of my baby’s hands and feet, nappies, a dummy, and a few bottles as I had trouble breast feeding…

We are definitely the lucky country 🇦🇺

This is why I'm doing a home birth....just me, and hubby in the comfort of our home with nurses and a delivery doctor👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I just spent 26 days in hospital and didn’t have to pay a penny. People like to complain about the NHS but we’re so blessed to have it.

Wow that’s crazy Thank god for insurance 😮 I’m glad Canada doesn’t have crazy fees like that 💃

Insurance is actually the reason the bill is so high in the first place

In Australia, if you go through public hospitals - labour and delivery and postpartum care are free - I’ve had 4 babies and never had to pay (except for ultrasounds during pregnancy)
