I always have an issue with slurring my words or mumbling, because of dental issues making it difficult to close my mouth properly or say L's, R's, or TH's easily (curse my front teeth :/)
this was very helpful to start to figure out how to make my voice sound more... presentable, if you will, when i do voice-overs and the like

Damn, this is solid advice. Been trying to get that BBC sound to my voice, but I didn't realize how much placement plays a role in it. Do you know where I'd have to place it for an American Broadcaster's voice, or is it same place, different accent?

Thanks Darren!
I sometimes block on words, and stammer (I've seen a speech therapist, and but I didn't really qualify for further sessions.)
I have noticed that when I speak with a slightly more breathy voice, and start a sentence in a ever-so slightly higher pitch, 1) I don't go into the realms of vocal-fry, and 2) I am smoother, more fluent.
My natural speaking voice has glottal stops, but I think my body and brain uses these stops to disrupt the flow of my speech.

Practicing these vocal tone and articulation exercises seems to be helpful with finding my smoother voice.

Is this something you have heard of, in terms of helping a stammer, before? And, Is it possible for me to make these changes in speech, a habit?

Thanks!

Chris
