Well done video. The only thing I had to do to get it to slip down is to jack the engine up from the bottom which then gave the alternator enough room to slip down. Sure wish I had know the alternator was going to seize up when I had done the water pump and replaced the timing belt and such when I had it part. I would have done it too then.

Yeah, I always thought those ratchet wrenches were a racket and to good to be true. Got a set of gear wrenches with a bigger crescent set of tools a couple years back that tractor supply had on closeout (actually bought a couple of them they had the price was so good. would have bought more if they had any). What a dope. I don't know how I did without them all those years. The crescent tools have been very good also. They are both owned by the same parent company.

Thanks for the Instructions .tried remove from top on my 2002 pt, didn't work maybe 2001 and 2002 alternator those years maybe were larger? Anyway your instructions were clear as well as the Haynes vidio.also the Haynes manual stated to loosen the power steering cooler. I did and the alternator came out easily. Also the two cooler bolts are 10 mil you have to fill for. Them couldn't see them.anyway hope this helps.

I know this is an old video BUT that alternator comes out from the TOP! Without having to remove all that. Remove the coolant recovery tank. Remove the heat shield lose alternator. Pull it out from the top.

don't think the car wizard has ever done a PT Cruiser and now you probably know why no one would dare take one of these cars there because the labor bill will probably reach the car's value in about a day.
